Lovely location. Very peaceful and loved watching the fog pour over the hill. Accommodation was cosy. It's not fancy but very comfortable. The owner was lovely and very helpful.
Abby and her helper, Charlie, were great communicators and the entire stay went very smoothly. Abby has two friendly dogs, but they do not come into the B&B space unless invited.
The view from Abby's place is just incredible, the pictures don't do it justice. There are orange and lemon trees loaded with fruit. The beds are comfortable and we slept well.
If you're looking for a place with a great 60's-70's California ambiance, look no further.
Word of warning - if you're uncomfortable with narrow mountain roads, this might not be the place for you!
Abigail was a kind, easy-going host. When we were both at the property at the same time, she gave us some tips on hiking in the area. She also let my son enjoy the company of her energetic dogs, which he says was the highlight of his trip.
We were glad to get some written instructions from her ahead of our drive to the property. Our GPS (and even Google maps) was having some difficulty figuring the last turns to her home.
The property was in the perfect location for us to do the activities we really wanted to do in the area, which included hiking in Muir Woods and biking across the Golden Gate Bridge, and exploring the Marin Headlands. After an active day, having a short drive home really increased the relaxation factor of the trip. Since the property is quite close to Mill Valley grocery stores and the property has a little kitchen area, it was very convenient for us to take care of our breakfast needs quickly at the property so we could get an early start and beat the crowds.
We're grateful to Abigail for sharing her little piece of heaven with us.
What a lovely place to stay! Abigail was the perfect combination of welcoming and respectful of our privacy. Our plane was late and traffic was bad, but she was still there to meet us. The apartment is private and wonderfully quiet (except for the sound of chirping birds!). It was very comfortable for four adults, including comfy beds and a private patio looking out over the bay.
The view is amazing. The location is amazing. The property is amazing - lush, green, and fragrant.
We recommend staying at Suki's!
My stay at the mountain retreat was phenomenal. The space (including a beautiful rose garden and private yoga/meditation deck!) made me feel instantly comfortable, and Abby and her neighbor Charlie went above and beyond to make sure I had the best visit possible. The location in muir woods is ideal for a retreat, with hikes and walks accessible from the house, and you can really feel the love and energy Suki put into her home. Highly recommended, and I'll be back.
She was friendly, helpful and flexible. Her helper Charlie was the same. He helped us figure out where to go to hike and eat etc. The space is lovely! The view is amazing and access to hiking and all that Mill Valley has to offer is excellent. It is also interesting to think of Suki having been present and documenting such an interesting time in SF.
The host was very warm and polite. We all loved the Dogs especial my son. The apartment was perfect for the four of us and very cozy as well. It was perfect location for all the things we wanted to do like Muir Woods and the beach and shopping in Mill valley.I loved the view of the city both day and night without the noise. I enjoyed the clean fresh air of the forests and all the trails near back that my son and I got to explore them together. It was wonderful experience for my first time using and airbnb.
Our stay at Suki's Mtn Retreat was great. The views from the patio were outstanding, especially as the moon rose after sunset from behind Mt. Diablo. This is a good launching point for day trips. Our time was mostly spent in Muir Woods and Point Reyes, and Mount Tam is just a short hike away too.
True to the pictures, there is little for seating, and just a boat galley of a kitchen, so don't expect to have a dinner party. We'd eat on the patio on the old folding chairs, but when it got chilly at night, there wasn't much room to fit four people in the living room with just a table for two and a loveseat facing away from it.
The apartment was a perfect fit for our family of four! the little ones enjoyed breakfast overlooking the garden and had a great time exploring the pathways by the house. The property is so quiet and peaceful. The house is close to mill valley and it's restaurants, Mt. Tam, Muir Woods and a ton of walking paths in the neighborhood!
It was a so so so beautiful experience in the apartment. You can have a good view since the house is on the top of the mountain. I like the garden, flowers, pets.everything there. What's more, it's very convenient for cooking and there is a food market nearby. Abi is very nice and thanks for his tourguides.
