I have shared my place with many people, and find the experience to be delightful. I speak a little Spanish and do pretty well in French and German.
"Suki's Mountain Retreat" is definitely a mountain retreat and a breathtaking one at that. Ideally located for easy & quick trips to Muir Beach, Muir Woods, mountain trails and Mill Valley's town center, this retreat is also convenient for trips to-and-from San Francisco and anywhere in the Bay area. Be aware though that you may just want to stay put from time-to-time at Suki's retreat and enjoy the calm & peaceful view of the bay!
You'll have everything you'll need here. As the previous comment mentioned, it's best to first arrive during daylight for easy navigation to the abode. It doesn't take long to get used to the beautiful drive up and down the mountain though. On that note: it's best to have a vehicle for this location, especially if one wants to fully take in what the area has to offer, but it's also doable without one as long as one does the necessary research & planning ahead of time, and especially if one is planning on making more of a retreat out of the stay.
Suki is an excellent host. Her love for Mill Valley comes through in her enthusiasm of this beautiful place. I will very likely be staying here again! Thanks Suki!
We had a great time and were pleasantly surprised by the location. Recommend arriving before dark unless you are familiar with the area. A perfect weekend getaway.
Suki's place is nothing short of magical. There are orange and lemon trees on the terrace overlooking the Bay and all of the beautiful things in between Marin and the city. This is a place to sip coffee and watch the sunrise, hike nearby trails, have easy access to beautiful Mill Valley and enjoy wine and great conversation in the evening. You won't want to go anywhere else and you really shouldn't - if you don't have to. As for Suki, she's a lovely hostess, amazingly talented, and incredibly kind.
What a beautiful place to get away from it all! Had a great weekend running the trails of the coastal mountains and returning to Suki's magical retreat to watch the moon rise over the bay...
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Suki's cozy and charming guest quarters. The view can't be beat and the weather was wonderful. A very relaxing retreat to get away from the daily grind.
We had a lovely stay at Suki's Mountain Retreat. There is a great walking trail nearby that leads up to Mt. Tam and the view from the house is gorgeous.
This was a most pleasant stay… for our first Airbnb experience. Things went smoothly from reservations to checking in to staying here to checking out. Suki and Charlie (and Edie) were very cordial but respectful of our coming and going. We were here to spend time with our daughter, her husband and a brand new 2 week old grandson that live nearby. Everything inside the apartment was fine but most impressive was the view right outside the door. We spent mornings watching the sunrise and peaceful evenings overlooking the lights of Mill Valley and the north Bay in the distance. Very impressive to us “flatlanders” from Ohio. My wife is a hiker and followed the trails from here to the east peak of Mt Tam. Another day, after a short drive to Stinson Beach, she walked the Matt Davis trail. The drive up from Miller Ave was a little challenging the first couple of times but as we became accustomed to dodging parked cars, all was good. All in all it provided an excellent backdrop for a visit to see our new grandson.
What a lovely home/apartment!! My family and I stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything we could possibly need was provided. Although the hosts are nearby for any help, it is very private and comfortable. We not only loved the comfortable beds, the view, the cozy loveseat, the table inside with a gorgeous view, the patio with an even better view, but we enjoyed getting to know the hosts as they are so nice!! We parked close, right on their driveway, and actually walked to many trails. Mill Valley is a perfect place to stay and a lovely city. Sonoma, Corte Madera, Sausalito, San Francisco, etc., were all close by and fun to visit too. Now I want to move there :)
Not too fancy, but The view was fantastic. Close to a bunch of beautiful hikes, all while being 10 mins from a grocery store. For those wanting a quaint weekend getaway from the city, it's perfect. We had a fantastic time.
Suki Hill's mountain retreat is an extraordinary setting. The view from your private patio looks through rose bushes and lemon trees to take in the entire northern end of San Francisco bay. This vista is flanked on either side by magnificent redwood groves. The setting rivals the most beautiful Caribbean island resort. You will remember it for a lifetime.
Be prepared to drive up steep narrow roads to a steep private driveway. The apartment itself is cosy, not posh. Come with your love, or come and reflect on the wonder of the world and your gratitude for sharing this time in its vast beauty. Walk through the sanctuary of Muir Woods, ridiculously close by, and go to the top of Mount Tamalpias and walk the gentle loop with a 360 view from the summit. We were thrilled we found and chose this very special retreat.
