My wife and I enjoyed staying at Juliana's apartment. The location is close to a an active square with outdoor restaurants but since the apartment is near the back of the house and adjacent to a church we got none of the street noise. The large Saturday market is about 3 blocks away and stretches for quite some distance along the boulevard. With our rental car, we worried about where we would park but found that the city has free 24 hour parking at a lot right next to the the park/garden that is in turn next to the historical museum. That lot is only a short walk west from Juliana's apartment. Walking east from her apartment are many outdoor restaurants and Roman historical sites, including the forum, theater and amphitheater. We very much enjoyed Arles but also enjoyed seeing the St. Remy, the asylum where Vincent Van Gogh completed about 200 of his paintings during his final year. We also saw the fabulous Roman aquaduct at Pont-du-Guard (its image decorates the five Euro bill), market day (Sunday) at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, and a bunch of Luberon villages -- Lourmarin, Goult, Joucas, Lacoste, and Roussillon -- each is quite old, picturesque and perched on a hilltop. Juliana's apartment helped make this all possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It was an excellent, enjoyable home base for us.
Juliana was a great host and very helpful. She would respond quickly to any query. Her apartment is in the best part of old Arles is centrally located and it was quiet at night. The apartment is spacious and full of her art work and interesting books to read in the evenings. There is really only one queen size bed in the one bed room, and a pull out couch in the living room. Thank you Juliana
My wife Anne and I stayed 4 nights in Julianas flat in Arles. The
flat was beautiful and perfect situated in Arles old town.
The wiew was very nice overlooking an old church. It was very quiet and the flat was very comfortable with nothing missing. Juliana is a very helpful host who guided us to the flat and gave us useful information about restaurants in the neighborhood. We hope that we can return.
Juliana's apartment was a 'lovely surprise'. It is better than what you see in the photographs. It was warm, cosy and at the same time very spacious in the middle of the winter season. Juliana met us at the agreed time and she was a gracious person herself - willing to share everything in the apartment that she owned. We loved our experience in the middle of old fashioned streets that had so much atmosphere. There was a small old bread/cake shop across the road and one on every corner. We had to park our car a few streets away, but once we got the 'hang of it' it was relatively easy. The streets around the apartment do not fit cars. Thank you Juliana for a wonderful stay.
Juliana's apartment is in a quiet location, and it is bright and cosy. It is on top floor (second floor) with narrow staircase so beware if you have a heavy luggage. Each room is spacious. The sofa can be converted to a very comfortable sofa bed. There are plenty of good eating place around the apartment. Perfect place for a weekend getaway.
Juliana is a very generous host, the place is lovely, in the centre of the old town - with a view to the church tower! The place is spacious and comfortable. The only drawback is if you have a car you cannot be guaranteed to park nearby. The narrow stairs are a bit difficult to negotiate if you have big luggage. Juliana however did help us move in.
