Since this was my 1st AirBnB experience, I was slightly nervous but after staying at Jack & Elizabeth's lovely home I'm now a total AirBnB convert. Their apartment is extremely charming- open, bright, and clean- in an unbeatable location. I was attending a conference downtown and had my choice of bus routes all nearby. Jack and Elizabeth have turned hosting into an art form- the room was lovely, they'd printed a list of nearby restaurants and stores, the bed was comfortable beyond my expectations and the sheets were soft. An added bonus is their adorable cat who made my evenings by seeming so delighted to see me when I walked in the door. Jack was always very prompt about answering my newbie questions which I appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation (but especially women travelling solo who are looking for a very reasonably priced, quiet, completely safe place to sleep).
Staying at Jacks was the best! Great place with sweet vintage furniture and a delightful cat that loves to play. We were given so much privacy and the nights were quiet and cozy - purfect for a good nights rest after being in town for a conference. Would have loved to hang out more with our gracious hosts, but it was tax time when we visited so we did our best to stay out of the way :) Definitely stay here if you are in Portland. Our favorite places in the city were actually in this area!
Fantastic stay with Jack and Elizabeth. Very clean, simple room with hardwood floors, and a very clean bathroom. They respected our privacy, and made it very easy to come and go as we pleased. Highly recommend. Thanks Jack and Elizabeth!
I've had a great stay at Jack's place. They have been very friendly and made me feel welcome at their place. I can only recommend it for anyone who's looking for a comfortable and central place to stay in Portland.
Super great value in a super clean bedroom in a 1960's apartment with hardwood floors and comfortable living space. Really comfortable bed, btw!
The apartment is well situated, between Belmont and Stark --short walks to the plethora of cafes, pubs, theatres, and shops in this cool/hip SE section of Portland.
I had a really great time during my 3-night stay with Jack & Elizabeth. They did a lot to make me welcome and comfortable. Thanks!!!
I spent a total of three nights with Jack and Elizabeth and had a very pleasant stay. They are most accommodating and made me feel at home. They are delightful people and it was fun chatting with them. It's a relaxed, comfortable place and I will definitely plan to stay with them when I'm in Portland again.
Jack and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts! Very friendly folk, and they even take the time to have a list of some local eats printed out. The room across from theirs is sizable and the bed is very nice to sleep on. Great location too! Wish we could have had more time to stay. Highly recommended!
Great host, welcomed us with the smell of baking zucchini bread. Were extremely helpful and gave us tips of things to do in Portland and SF, our next destination. Bed was comfy and the place was super clean in a great neighborhood. Will stay there again for sure if the occasion arises.
This was a last minute get away for my wife and I. We had a great time and the hosts were great. Will give them a call next time we are in planning a week-end in town!
Jack and Elizabeth are super-friendly and helpful without being obtrusive, and their place is very comfortable. I love how they've decorated it: chic, minimalist, modern, clean. The neighborhood is quiet, but several restaurants and a $3.00 movie theatre are close by, and it's a short drive to downtown. This was my first AirBnb experience, and I was duly impressed!!
Jack and Elizabeth were lovely and considerate guests. It was a pleasure to have them in my home.
They were very understanding about a venue change due to construction. Left the place clean and even left coffee for the next guests.
