Kita and Dan were wonderful hosts. With a flexible check-in and check-out time, we were able to arrive and depart Boston without stress and hassle. Dan was very responsive throughout the day via text and email and let us into the apartment remotely, coordinating all logistics before we arrived.
The apartment is by far the most affordable option near Harvard square, conveniently located between Harvard and Central. Kita and Dan provided maps and guides of the city and ensured we knew our best options for getting to and from the airport upfront. All aspects of the apartment met our expectations from the listing. We can't wait to stay again the next time we're in town!
Kita was a very helpful host. Communication was prompt and easy! Checking in and checking out were very smooth.
The location was great for visiting Harvard College- a ten minute walk from Harvard Square and right by plenty of restaurants.
The apartment was not necessarily luxurious, but it's perfect for a couple people looking to stay in the area for a few nights!
Great area and good location for walking around Cambridge. Hosts were very nice and we had no issues with the apartment.
Staying at Markita's apt in Cambridge made for a perfect weekend trip to Boston. The apt is in a great location in Cambridge between Harvard Sq. and Central Sq. It was only about 5-10min walk to either T station. There were a lot of restaurants around to get breakfast and dinner. Our favorite was an Irish Pub called "The Field", great atmosphere. The Apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed for our weekend stay, it was a home away from home! Thank you Markita!
I wanted to be nice but I also wanted to be honest when giving feedback. Frankly, I don't think this apartment is worth the money I paid. We all know accomodation is Boston is very expensive, but with the same budget ($250+) I believe I deserve some more decent place to stay.
Markita and her husband Dan were very responsive when we communciated with them before our arrival. However, I was a little surpised that when we checked in at 6 p.m. on a Thursday, the apartment was actually not "totally ready", and Dan, rushing back from work, had to do some last minute retouch to get a few things organized. Apparently he had been living in this apartment and he had to make room for us - which I didn't expect. But still, he left some unwashed clothes in the laundry bag in the bedroom, and an unemptied trash can in the kitchen. Not being picky here, but this did make me feel uncomfortable and not respected.
Speaking about the apartment, the location was great, and it was very spacious for two person. The couple prepared some tea, coffee and oatmeal which was pretty nice. Other than that, I'm sorry to say nothing was impressive. I was a bit shocked by the bedroom - it was barely furnished! There was one queen size bed, two mirros standing against the wall, one plastic chest drawers, and an open "wardrobe" even without a curtain to cover the stuff inside. We seemed to have some clean sheets, but they looked very old with broken edges. At the first sight, it didn't look like a "home", more like some temporary living space. I later checked back their posts on airbnb, and...the bedroom photo was NOT there for a reason! I wonldn't have booked the apartment if I realized that earlier. (I was unfortunately callceled by another house owner last minute, so I make a rush booking without checking all the details. My fault!)
All in all, from a value perspective, I think this apartment is over priced. If you just want someplace to sleep, with a good location, and you don't care about money, go for it. Otherwise, i guess there are plenty of other places to try. (BTW, plan to bring a hair dryer if you need one after shower, coz they 'never use' hair dryers.)
Markita was a great host, very communicative and flexible as we worked on getting my parents (visiting me in Cambridge) organized. I never got to meet her but her lovely husband showed me around. The apartment is a great location between Harvard and Central Sqs, conveniently on the first floor of the building but tucked away from Mass Ave. They stocked the pantry and bathroom for us and everything was comfortable and neat. Thanks so much!
Markita made us feel very welcome and she was very communicative and accommodating! Although we weren't able to meet in person, Markita made easy arrangements for me to get the key to the apartment. The apartment was conveniently located very close to Harvard and about a 20 minute walk to MIT. It is close to the T-station with easy access to down town Boston as well.
We had a great stay! Markita was friendly and accommodating. The apt is in a great location and parking was surprisingly easy. It was a little cramped for 5, but would be ample for 1-2 and perfect for 3. Our only difficulty was that the building laundry is no longer coin operated and requires a special resident card.
Spacious apartment stocked with enough coffee and oatmeal for my whole stay, plus a helpful list of where to find things around the neighborhood. Markita and Dan were VERY good communicators and made the whole process very smooth for me. Cambridge is a tough city to find good value for an Airbnb and we were lucky to find this one after a long search.
Markita and Dan were very friendly hosts. I needed to find a place to stay last minute for some friends and she was responsive and willing to accommodate my request. The apartment is in a great location; located between Harvard and Central square and close to the T. Would definitely recommend to
People staying in the Boston area.
Kita & Dan were very pleasant people. They stayed as a quick pit stop & arrived around 7 pm, as pre-arranged. We had a chance to chat briefly & to get them a cup of tea. They departed early, as they had indicated was their plan. They are welcome here anytime.
Markita was such a delightful guest. She was very friendly, easy to talk with and she left the cabin in great shape. We would love to have her stay with us again.
Markita arrived here with her new husband, just after midnight of 6th July, 2014 and stayed the whole of 7th July, leaving on morning of 8th July. As they were on honeymoon we gave them space to relax. They had their own means of transportation and they spent the day seeing the city and relaxing here. We found them friendly and they did not complain of anything. They were nice guests to host and we would be happy to have them again
Markita was a great guest! She and her partner were quiet, clean and responsive!
Markita and Dan are very responsible and friendly. I especially appreciate that they kept me well informed on their arrival time, and that they took the initiative at breakfast. A joy to host, highly recommended, and always welcome here!
It was such a pleasure to rent my apartment to Markita and her friend. They were totally trustworthy, and very clean. I encourage everyone to welcome her into their home. You're welcome back anytime. Thanks very much! .
