I'm an artist originally from the UK and have lived in lovely Connecticut for 6 years. The things I love most are working, eating dinners my husband Peter cooks and meeting new people - they always have tales to tell.

We had an absolutely lovely stay with Peter and Mary! They were warm, thoughtful, and great fun to talk with. The Yale museums are spectacular....and free!
Mary and Pete were lovely and considerate hosts. We had a quiet room with views of trees and birds and blue sky. It was comfortable and cozy, with a double down quilt! Loved it. The location is on a very quiet street, but close to major thoroughfares - very convenient. I'd recommend it, and will likely stay another time when I'm in the area.
"'Peaceful Stopover" (PS) was exactly that for my husband and I. Location was beautiful .2 mi. walk from our daughter's home. Host and hostess opened their stylish home to us, explained house rules and our week long stay was a joy. We basically just slept and showered @ PS and spent our days either touring area or with grandchildren. Our daughter plans to acquire a larger home but if we have occasion for another visit before that time we would hope for an opening @ PS.
Enjoyed our stay thanks to Mary and Peter. The house was very clean, easy to find with off street parking.
As we left early. Mary got up and made breakfast for 5:30 am. That was very much appreciated.
Mary and Peter were fantastic hosts. Their house is lovely and reflects the impeccable design aesthetic that they bring to their work. Moreover, they are kind, intelligent and pleasant people to speak with. The room was comfortable, the location was great. It was only about 10 minutes from downtown New Haven, and I had no problem going to Yale the days I was there. For anyone who is stopping over between New York and Boston or anyone who needs to be in New Haven, I would highly recommend staying here.
Lovely house in pretty, quiet residential area.
Mary and Pete are a charming, interesting couple and very helpful, generous hosts.
As a design lover I particularly valued being surrounded by their own stunning contemporary furniture
I had an absolute lovely and peaceful stay with Mary and Pete. They are highly talented fine art furniture designers and very down to earth and super friendly. I loved sleeping with the skylight open for the fresh breeze and view of the treetops and stars. The bed is very comfortable and I was warm under the soft duvet. They were so kind to make me coffee and homemade Muesli and fruit in the mornings. The neighborhood is charming and quiet and perfect for a stroll down the tree lined residential streets. The home was incredibly clean! If you are lucky, the fantastic chef Pete will cook one of his amazing dishes for you especially pasta with veg from their garden. Pete and Mary are my new friends and highly recommend their accommodation.
Mary and her husband were very welcoming to my mother and greatly facilitated her stay with them. They provided a lovely breakfast and were wonderful hosts. The house is in a great location and the room is very comfortable.
Peter was such a warm and welcoming host. He struck just the right chord. He was easy to talk with and open to questions, but never intrusive. We were so comfortable staying in their home (Mary was out of town).
The first night we arrived at the house we beat Peter as his flight into NYC was delayed by storms. Even though he had arrived at 2 a.m. , he was up by 7:30 having made a lovely breakfast of muesli, fresh fruit, coffee and tea!
The house was on a very quite street, and l loved listening to the evening orchestra of crickets and cicadas while sitting in their secluded garden.
The bed was very comfortable, and the house was spotless and beautifully furnished with their creative custom-designed pieces.
We would return in a heart beat. 5 stars! They are just a 10 min drive from downtown New Haven.
Thank you, Peter!
We had another (our second) peaceful stopover in North Haven. Our room was just as relaxing as we remembered it. I think its the cozy pillows that make the bed so comfortable. Or is it the soft linens? Maybe both!
I wish we could have stayed longer on Sunday to relax on the porch overlooking the garden. However, we were in CT for a family function so we were off early in the morning.
Mary is such a thoughtful host. This is my "go to" choice when visiting our family near by. Thanks again!
I am so sorry to have missed meeting Mary. The other guests in the home absolutely loved their time with her and her significant other. I hope to meet her again.
Mary and Peter were excellent guests. Clear and concise communicators - extremely self sufficient. 5 Stars.
Mary is a lovely guest! She had a wedding to go to so we hardly saw her but she was friendly and took care of herself. Highly recommended!
It was a great pleasure to host Mary. She is lovely. A perfect guest. I am glad that our paths crossed and we actually did meet. I highly recommend Mary as a guest.
