I had the pleasure of staying in Hawk's Cottage for a month while visiting UCSB. Hawk's parents greeted me when I arrived and promptly got me settled in, they were very sweet and pleasant people. The cottage was perfect, it had all the necessities, was quiet and peaceful, a great location, 15 minutes to downtown and 45 to the beach on foot. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in SB.
Cute, cozy little place with charme and character. The hosts were very nice and friendly as well. We arrived on December 31 and had 2 little bottles of champaign, chocolate and some roasted nuts waiting for us. This was very lovely. Also the Innes set up the bike for us.
The cabin as a little kitchenenette with a fridge and a microwave and there is tea and coffee. The bathroom doesn't have a sink, but this is not a problem as you can use the kitchenette sink.
What might be an issue for some is the fact that the bed isn't very big (for 2) and that the plumbing is somewhat delicate (and at times noisy)
We enjoyed our stay at the cute cottage.

This place is very cozy and in a lovely residential neighborhood. Hawk's parents are very friendly. I very much enjoyed my stay. Also, it was a great value!
La cabaña de Hawk fue perfecta para finalizar nuestro viaje por California. Los padres de Hawk fueron muy amables y nos atendieron de forma inmejorable. La zona es muy tranquila y nos sentimos muy cómodos
I booked Hawk's cottage for a friend. Everything was great. Hawk's mother welcomed us when we arrived there, explained how things worked and gave us the keys. She has been attentive and available for the entire stay (which my friend ended up extending).
The cottage is in a private and gated garden, which helps make it feel even safer. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has everything one may need. The fan and the windows allowed to sleep comfortably even in hot days. My friend had no problem finding parking on the street.
This was my first time using airbnb, and I have to say I was a little apprehensive. This cottage was as described...very private and charming. The hosts were very welcoming and left some chilled beverages in the refrigerator before I arrived. I spent a week in Santa Barbara to meet the newest member of the family and this was my cozy home away from home. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe, and the location was so convenient for me. The bed was very comfortable and the studio was very clean. As pictured, there is a small deck outside the cottage entrance with a table and seating if you wish to enjoy the fresh air. The hosts have a friendly little dog (who doesn't bark a lot) to greet you. She also tries to convince you to play ball with her if you are game. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! This studio is really well suited for one person, but two works if you are close. Thank you to my hosts for a lovely place to stay.
We had a great time staying at Hawk's place last weekend while attending a wedding in SB. Terrific crash pad!
Great little backyard cottage at a great price, close to downtown Santa Barbara. Perfect if you're looking for a little peace, quiet and privacy that's close enough to walk to the main attractions that Santa Barbara has to offer. I stayed here for about 2 1/2 months and had a wonderful stay with zero complaints! Definitely recommended.
It is really a cosy place to stay. If you are looking for a quiet place which is cared by calm and friendly people then I can definitely recommend this place. It is a 20-minutes-walk to the city, calm neighborhood, nice garden, intmate atmosphere and friendly hosts!
At night the heating might make some noise, but it is hand able.
There is no separate washbasin in the bathroom, but this is the only and small thing to criticize - I would definitely book again !!!!
Hawks place (actually hosted by Hawk's parents) was perfect for what we were after for our stay in Santa Barbara. The place is very small but very cosy and his parents were very welcoming. If you're looking to use the kitchen this might not be the place for you but chances are that you will be checking out the many restaurants that SB has to offer. I'd stay there again.
