I am from Torquay in Australia, I like to surf, snowboard and be outside.
OMG, i just loved this little place. After a reasonably swanky weekend in Melbourne we arrived to find this totally original and very cute little unit ( actually it feels quite big when you are there and would easliy suit a family)
We were only here one night but could have stayed much longer.
It is basic, but what it lacks in frills it makes up for in character :)
Very clean, older/original condition unit with everything you need for a holiday at the beach or a weekend away from Melbourne. Comfortably sleeps 6 (3 bedrooms). 2 rooms with lovely comfortable double beds with clean linen and extra warm blankets if needed. Very central location in Torquay. Front unit located close to a busy roundabout, but couldn't hear the traffic at all. Lovely note and muffins from Chloe on arrival and a well equipped kitchen with lots of basics for cooking (oil, salt, coffee, mayo etc). We were in town for a very rainy Neil Young concert and hot showers and cups of tea when we got back to the unit were much appreciated!! Thanks Chloe.
Lovely little place. Chloe was a great host and the place had everything we needed. You can walk to the beach and all the shops and yet it still feels incredibly peaceful.
This is a great place! It's easy to carry the surfboard (provided) about 3 blocks to the beach. Chloe is a great hostess.
One piece of advice -- if you need internet access go to Growlers Cafe on the Esplanade. No other cafe or restaurant has reliable internet. Though I heard the public library also has internet.
Chloe is a fantastic host, and provided all kinds of goodies on arrival. The unit is a great place to stay, has everything you could need and is so close to everything, especially the beach. Am looking forward to staying there again soon.
Response from Chloe:
Thanks for the lovely review. We were planning to take the unit off airbandb and put it on a a normal rental, when were you thinking to come?
My friends and I enjoyed our stay at Chloe's vintage beach house very much. It's a short walk to the beach, pub, and lucky for us we caught the Thursday Night Jar market. What a cool place! Chloe and her husband very quick to respond when we locked ourselves out after a long day of driving the Great Ocean Road. Thanks again Chloe!
Response from Chloe:
You didn't happen to take a beige bath towel with you, I can't seem to find the second one.
I had a great few days staying here. If you are after a place with all the mod cons, then don't book this, it is an original 1960's style unit. But it was perfect for me, nice and simple, fully stocked kitchen, good shower. Three bedrooms and could sleep 6 comfortably. It is really quiet despite being close to a main road. Walking distance to Torquay surf beach and Jan Juc.
Chloe was a great host and made sure I had everything I needed. I would stay here again for sure. Pack your towel and surfboard, a few books and leave the rest at home :)
It was a very short stay, but everything was great with Chloe and her family. Respectfull and communicative people.
Chloe and her family were great guests! Our communication was smooth and they left my apartment in perfect shape. I would not hesitate to recommend them!
