I LOVE travel and all that it entails e.g., conquering the unknown, meeting new friends and the ensuing education that can't be learned in a classroom. My husband and I have 6 children, although all are now legally adults. Our kids were raised with an appreciation for experiences over material possessions and happily, they embrace the values of travel as well. I wish airbnb had existed back when we were first carting them around the states and across the pond. A Marriott is a Marriott is a Marriott. You can travel the world and feel like you've never left home. But the opportunity to stay in a home in the city you're visiting? I can't imagine a better way to really get a feel for your destination.
I am currently traveling as much as I possibly can and my primary destination is Turkey. I am about to leave for my third trip this year and I am studying Turkish. Once I feel comfortable enough with Altaic languages, my intent is to travel as much of the silk road as I possibly can while avoiding civil unrest. I will blog the adventures on (website hidden).
