Mijin and her guest seem like sweet people and perhaps just need to be gently reminded about being conscious at someone else's home so they can learn and grow from their experiences as guests and I in turn can learn from my own experiences. There were a few things that happened with Mijin and her guest that prompts me to write this review and this is the very first time I have ever written a review of a guest that isn't favorable. I have had such great luck with airbnb!! One of the things that happened with Mijin is that they left a very full and very open Modelo beer can on the dresser that spilled all over the dresser, towels and carpet. Not cool at all. I also laid out towels for both of them in the room on the dresser, but they chose to use one of my towels from the hallway and not the towels that I specified as theirs to use. Not a big deal at all--it's just a towel, but it implies to me that they weren't thinking in a conscious manner. Very rarely do guests leave the door wide open while they bring luggage in and out, but it does happen from time to time and although it's not a big deal in itself, when coupled with a few other things that add up it does result in a need to mention it. Mijin and her guest left the door wide open and one of my cats got out while the door was left open and has not returned since. This cat is the type that hides whenever guests are around, so the door must have been open for some time for this particular cat to gather the courage to walk towards the open door and take the time she would need to summon more strength to go out the door. She is an indoor only cat and has been missing for several days now. This serves as a reminder to ME that I shouldn't assume every guest will be conscious and close the door behind them out of courtesy to the house, with or without pets. I should have previously created a sign for my guests to keep the door closed before and after them, even if they are carrying luggage in. In the couple years I have been doing airbnb, this has never been an issue as guests rarely do this. They seem to be conscious of closing the door and not leaving it wide open.whether they know I have cats or not. Either way, I take responsibility for not creating a sign to indicate that I prefer the door be shut immediately after coming inside. I have since created a sign for this reason. I don't believe at all that Mijin and her guest did any of this intentionally--they did seem like sweet people-- but I also think that in the airbnb community, being conscious and respectful of your guests needs...
Nice couple, friendly, stayed several nights in my small guest room. Left it tidy.
Mijin is so cute! Her stay with us was perfect. Her and her guest were quiet and tidy. We'd love to host them again someday! Highly recommend to be your next guest :)
