Mehmet is a great host! Me and my friend stayed 11 days in his nice apartment and we felt very comfortable. The apartment is exactly like on the pictures: spacious, bright day lighted, fully equipped (especially the kitchen) and a fully functional shower. The beds are so comfortable, so a relaxing sleep is guaranteed. Also because of the quiet location of the (email hidden) is allocated in one of the most beautiful parts of the city...it is closed to the ferry Harem (5 min. walk), so you are very fast in the european part with all of the touristic attractions and also very close to Kadiköy and Üsküdar on the asian part (5 min. by dolmus to each of them). Not far from the apartment, a little bit upstairs on the Harem Iskele Caddesi is a lovely cafe, named Yasemen, with delicious, handmade food, including marmelade, biskuits, cakes, mezze, omelette and a lot more, owned by a very nice couple. All in all I can highly recommend this apartment and Mehmet as a host!! He is very friendly and always helpfull, so as we arrived a little bit earlier, he arranged, that his parents met us!! We will definitely come back again to his great apartment on our next trip to Istanbul!! Thanks Mehmet for everything!!!

Mehmet was very helpful and friendly. Whenever we had a question or problem with the apartment, he responded very quickly to help. The apartment was very comfortable and just a short walk to the ferry. It was fun to take the ferry into the city, but make sure you don't miss the last ferry back in the evening. The taxi ride back is a little far. The neighborhood was very quiet and really a normal neighborhood in Istanbul. We had a comfortable time here.
Mehmet is a wonderful host and was MOST helpful to us on our first night in Istanbul. He met us at the ferry station and literally dragged 75lbs of luggage for us up a steep hill to the apartment. We couldn't have done it without him!
Uskudar is quiet and conservative so tourists should be prepared to encounter interested onlookers. We were not bothered at all but it was obvious that we were not "regulars" on that side of town. Further up the hill past Mehmet's street there is a delicious cafe run by a woman with homemade everything -- it's inexpensive and tasty. We'd highly recommend it!
The apartment itself is spacious and fully stocked. Both beds were comfortable and the bathroom fixtures worked perfectly. The view of the water is also incredible and sitting on the balcony would be fantastic in warmer weather. The house was a little dusty but overall, it was clean and ready for guests.
The only drawback was loud neighbors on each side of the building, but this was totally out of Mehmet's control, and he even offered to speak to the neighbors for us on one particularly noisy evening.
In general, the apartment is comfortable and Uskudar would be great as long as you are not looking for the hustle and bustle of tourist attractions near your place of residence.
Mehmet is a nice, very helpful host. We could only arrive at 1.30am and he was waiting for us, thank you Mehmet!
The apartment is very central located, in a quiet residential distric,
with a great view to the sea.
We, 4 persons, had a very nice time in Mehmet's apartment. It is really a quiet neighborhood and yet two steps from the ferry to the other side of the Bosporus. The beds are all right and comparing to an hotel, you have lots of room. We enjoyed our staying very much and will certainly come back.
The flat is very nice and has got a wonderful view to the bosporus. Only a few (stair-)steps to the ferryboat to the European Side with all the touristic spots. But also visit the flat's area of Üsküdar which is nice and interesting too! Mehmet gives you all the information you need. He is a wonderful nice person and we recommend!
The flat has an excellent location, convenient to ferries to Eminimou and dolmus/bus service to Uskadar. There is a nice store two blocks up the hill for breakfast supplies. The view is lovely and there is a nice breeze from the Bosporus. Overall, it was a nice stay.
