I am a parisian journalist, . I speak English and of course French. I used to practice fencing.
Cute little flat in Paris. Easy to take the Metro to & from both airports, and centrally located to Notre Dame, Rue de Four shopping, and great restaurants near the Odeon metro stop. My husband & I did not stay in the apartment much, but it was cozy sleeping, and lovely to sit next to the open the french doors and have coffee in the morning. (Too cold when we went to sit on the balcony) Tristan was so very accommodating, even greeted us with delicious croissants, and a bottle of wine (which we placed in the the fridge & forgot to drink). He also has a collection of Paris travel books which help if you need some suggestions or a quick map. Highly recommend if you want the feel of living in Paris!
I have not stayed in this apartment, but nevertheless I feel the need to post a very positive review. Wanting to spend a full month in Paris next July because of my 70th birthday - being very familiar with Paris since I generally visit a couple of times a year, but no longer than 2 weeks at a time before this time- I fell in love with Tristan's apartment- because of its exotic decoration, separate bedroom, little terrasse with a table for coffee outdoors, and the 52 reviews singing Tristans praises. However , after having reserved the apartment and paying the rent to Airbnb, I started to have second thoughts because of two things that are only a result of my personal issues- my desire to have everything during this"big" birthday month meet my fantasies. I have generally stayed on side streets, or pedestrian streets, and this apartment is on a main street with an emergency building across the street, rather than a narrow lane. As I "walked" up and down from the apartment - via an online mapping system (I would say "(website hidden) maps" but it will probably be blocked by the Airbnb software) - to the Arenes of Lutece and the Contrescarpe and rue Mouffetard and the Pantheon (all of which are close by) , I realized that the " feel" was different to me than I was picturing. A second issue - and the only other one - was my possibly (probably?) neurotic issue with the lack of a table that I felt could be a true "dining in" type of table - where I could have my meals and a glass of wine. There is a small round metal table that would have probably served just fine - particularly if I covered it with a cloth - but to me it didn't feel right. I operate on emotions sometimes - particularly with respect to this long anticipated and planned for coming of age month (I will be 70 going on 48 by the way). . I sent Tristan question after question- he responded quickly, completely, and politely, and not with the least trace of annoyance (to his credit). . Finally, he suggested I rethink the reservation, leaving it up to me. When I finally decided to cancel, he cooperated immediately ( despite being out of town) to aid me in reducing the days in the reservation to take it out of the automatic 28 day no refund policy, and then permit me to cancel with full refund. He has been WONDERFUL!!!! . Anyone coming to Paris should check out this reasonably priced and unusually large apartment with such a wonderful host. I truly plan on the occasion of another shorter (and less emotionally charged) trip to stay there - if Tristan will still have me, and I WILL continue to recommend Tristan and his apartment to others.
Great neighbourhood, charming little flat. Definitely would consider using again for our next trip to Paris!
Tristan was extremely helpful, kind, and courteous. Even though he was out of the country, he responded promptly to any request we made. He also ensured that we had a local contact in his absence. The apartment was well equipped and clean. The only thing I could warn a potential guest about is that the washing machine is loud, so run it during the day. I made the mistake of starting it late in the evening once.
it has been excellent, the place, the location (5eme and so close to rue mouffetard market and its market!), the way how the host makes it work to meet you and give you the keys. the place is clean and cosy. thanks tristan!

The apartment was very thoughtfully prepared for visitors - plenty of towels, sheets, visitor guides, etc. The location is excellent, literally on top of the Cardinal Lemoine metro station. There is a market around the corner, and a handful of restaurants at the corner.
The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped, the internet was fast and solid, and aside from a occasionally hyper small child upstairs, it was very quiet and peaceful.
Tristan is an excellent host, and was friendly, knowledgable, and flexible. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Paris.
Tristan is an excellent and friendly host, very good and quick communication.
The apartment was amazing, large and very clean, well furnished, super equipped with everithing you need (even umbrellas!) and quiet enough.
The bed is comfortable, even almost on the floor (as you can see on the photo gallery). The internet was solid.
The location is excellent, Cardinal Lemoine (M10) metro station is at the opposite and Place Monge (M7) metro station at 300mt. approx. Market and two bakeries around the corner, a full choice of restaurants and take-away food in the neighborhood.
Reccomended for couples.
This was an amazing place to stay in Paris! My wife and I booked Tristan's apartment for our honeymoon in October and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Tristan wasn't around when we got there, but kindly left the keys at a cafe downstairs. We made it into the apartment no problem where a bottle of red wine was waiting for us! The apartment is cozy with a decent-sized bathroom and wonderful balcony overlooking bustling Paris. The place was stocked: coffee, towels, sheets, detergent, soaps, wi-fi, guide books, the works. And the location couldn't have been better—a stone's throw from the Cardinal Lemoine metro, and a short walk to the Seine, Notre Dame, and Luxembourg Gardens. We highly recommend booking this apartment!
We loved our stay in Tristan's apartment with it's close proximity to the Metro, Carrefours, Boulangerie and the Mouffetard . We are both over 65 and we walked to Notre Dame and even to the Eiffel Tower. We found buying a carnet of 10 tickets was the cheapest way to use the metro as generally we caught a Metro one way. Although there is a lift we still needed to negotiate some stairs which was difficult with 2 large bags however we were there for 2 weeks so only a minor issue and most people probably would have smaller bags than 2 Aussies who had been away for 3 months. Perhaps the other consideration for older people is getting in and out of the hip bath/ shower. The abundance of tourist info was also appreciated especially the Lonely Planet and Rick Sevres books which had great walks. Every day we found something new despite this being our 4th Paris trip. Love love love the Left bank/Latin quarter and Tristan's apartment was a gem.
Tristan is a quiet and trustworthy tenant who appreciated and respected my house!
I had un umbrella and Tristan forgot this in a taxi, after this he bought one another!
