Grad student extraordinaire! Working toward two master's degrees, writing lots of papers, doing as many internships as I can, &c. I'm trying to do internships in cities other than Milwaukee so that I can travel and build up a broader network of friends and colleagues.

This is no doubt true for most of the people on this site, but I'm a bit obsessed with traveling. I've spent the vast majority of the past eight years jumping from one location to another for various school and work activities. Currently trying to figure out how I can make traveling fit into my future career -- not necessarily the easiest thing to do in the museum and archives fields.

I also love food -- both cooking and eating. I make awesome neon-colored cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Anytime I'm going somewhere, chances are I'm more excited about eating the food there than anything else. Galbi in South Korea? Yes please. Queso fundido con chorizo in Mexico? Count me in. Seriously, if nothing else made life worth living, good food would do the trick in a heartbeat.

Books were my first love, and I'm convinced that they'll be my last. Saul Williams has won my heart with words for over a decade, and I devour anything Steve Almond publishes. I'm a huge nerd for the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, and the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness makes me feel like my soul was ripped into a million tiny shreds and glued back together in the most perfect way possible. There is nothing better than the feeling of falling in love with a book and its characters.

So...school, traveling, food, books. That's a pretty good summary of me. I am organized and clean, and always try my best to be as respectful as possible. I hold doors open and always say thank you like a total gentleman. My parents taught me well.
