I was born in California, grew up in Texas, and began traveling the world at an early age with my merchant marine father. In the past 6 years I have called San Francisco, Berlin, and New York home. I've been in New York for two years, but the city keeps unfolding before me, revealing fascinating new facets to me, often when I least expect it. As a nomad, its often hard for me to stay in one place for too long. But, my decision to return to school left me with only one option, one place that could keep my wanderlust at bay; New York.
I am a current student and former audio engineer working on my thesis in Culture and Media at The New School. I am interested in aural modes of cognition and how sound can be used to open up a space of imagination and possibility, collapsing static social structures into a lateral environment of flux and creating the space for individuals to "wake up" from out of spectatorship and into a participatory action. Its all about the music!
