Carly & Ross were good hosts; their place is well located in the River North area and walking distance to several restaurants and attractions. We got lucky and found free parking a couple times but had to pay for street parking. The room is as pictured and the shared bathroom can be a bit of a pain if you have to be somewhere at a certain time. Their home is a town house with three levels, be prepared to climb those stairs! Noise was never an issue as other guest described; it's just basic light city noise. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were a high thread count. We had a wonderful first time visit to Chicago and recommend staying with Carly & Ross.

Perfect location in Chicago, one block from access to public transit and everything we wanted to do was within 25 minutes. Only got to stay for one night but the room was very clean and nice. Access to a small garden was an added bonus. Carly and her husband were very helpful with directions around town and were great hosts.
Carly and her husband were awesome hosts. Great place, great location, clean bed, clean bath, and fresh towels provided! Couldn't ask for anymore. Highly recommend!
This was a wonderful space - perfect for my quick overnight stay. The room and bathroom were adorable, light and airy, clean and neat. Carly is a wonderful host and made everything easy. I will definitely inquire again the next time I am in Chicago.
We had a great time staying at Carly's place! Her room was in the perfect location, within walking distance of many cool sites. Although, we only stayed for a few days and did not have time to get to know Carly, she was very kind and accommodating. The room had a great view of the garden to wake up to and the sounds of the trains to fall asleep at night to. We were a little sad that we were too busy and did not have the chance to check out the rooftop view. But, hopefully, the next time we are in Chicago, we will check out Carly's place again!
Beautiful condo in a great location. It's a really nice place to stay if you're in Chicago for a trip!
Unfortunately, my stay was short (just one night), but Carly seemed very accommodating and everything was very neat and clean. It definitely beats paying a lot for a room in downtown Chicago.
If you are going to Chicago and need a great place to stay, I would 100% recommend staying with Carly and Ross. They were wonderful hosts for my first visit to the windy city and they were great at providing recommendations of sights, activities, and places to eat.
The Garden Room was also a really fantastic accommodation in an incredibly convenient location. The room itself was super clean and really a great private space since it is on the first floor of the four story townhouse. Since there are not any other bedrooms on the floor there is really little traffic outside of the occasional person coming in or out of the front door, which is on the opposite side of the floor away from the room. The room was immaculately clean, so it felt more like staying in a hotel room than staying in a guest room in a home. The private bathroom is also a nice to have and the towels were really soft (an extra nice touch).
When I was in Chicago, I had ran the marathon so I had a couple of days before where I needed to just relax and not be so much out and about. Carly and Ross were really nice about letting me use the kitchen to cook some pasta the night before the race to carboload. The kitchen is amazing and if you have an affinity for cooking, it would be worth your while just to have a night in and make something because the stove, knives, and cookware are all top of the line.
I can't talk more highly about the amenities of the townhouse and the bedroom, but the amenities combined with the location made this place an incredible find. The house is located within a 2-10 minute walk of the "L" (depending on which line you are looking for, one of which goes out to O'hare) that can pretty much get you to anywhere you want to check out in Chicago. But you don't even need to go to the "L" if you are looking for a place to eat since there are a ton of great restaurants within an easy walk (we are talking less than 5 blocks for some spectacular food). Downtown Chicago is also a reasonable walk (anywhere from .75-1.5 mile depending on which attracting you are going to visit). Oh and make sure to take some time in the morning and walk over the Doughnut Vault which is also within 5-7 minute walk.
I really can't say enough about this place. I'd rather just recommend it because if you stay at in the townhouse and garden room, you'll realize you are getting 4 star hotel quality for a very small price.
A really nice place to stay, clean and comfortable, well placed in Chicago. We enjoyed it :)
Very centrally located, nice house, great views from rooftop, kind hosts and very clean room. If it wasn't for the trains passing by the window I would have given 5 stars.
Very nice, clean and comfortable place for the week-end.
Well located, 15 min walk from chicago downtown, it was perfect for me, i even found a free parking space next door.
Owners were nice and available when needed.
Carly arrived while I was at work and she and her mate checked themselves in. I did not meet them until they were packing up to go - but found them friendly, considerate, quiet and respectful. They left the cottage as they found it and were very nice people. I highly recommend Carly to any airbnb host.
Fantastic guests! Come again!
Great guests! I would not hesitate to rent to them again, and I would highly recommend them to other hosts!
