My husband and I are a professional couple, with a house free and clear of children. We have 3 dogs, a cat, and an abiding love of music - tune hounds till death do us part (from each other and the music!).
We're pretty laid back, don't have more than the normal number of bad habits, and like to take in live shows (if you don't know what that means ... oh well, nevermind). Our mutually favourite band - our hands down (fall down) favourite - is The Replacements. (We are the sons of no one, bastards of young.). Best couple of shows seen in the last couple of years - Arcade Fire and Wilco.
We haven't travelled a whole bunch (yet), but know we prefer interesting cities or great camping spots to tropical beaches, like clubs and camp fires more than cabanas, and appreciate a solid public transport system or a really good stretch of highway. AND - when we're ina city, we would WAY rather have a home than a hotel room in which to enjoy our time away. Room and maid service get old really fast. We want to be able to park out bags, have a place to park our butts, make a couple or three meals, and be able say after a night out "Let's go home".
Our kids (and their friends) acutally like to hang out with us - to a normal degree. They (the kids - I can't vouch for all the friends) all knew the words to most Hip tunes before they started grade 9, know that "Goin' To California" is one of the most achingly beautifuls songs ever written, and buy us vinyl records for Christmas. Really.
Being homeowners ourselves, we appreciate that anyone willing to rent out their home to strangers is taking more than a little risk. We would treat your home the same way we hope you would treat ours - enjoy it, use it, respect it, keep it clean.
Did I mention that our favourite two vacations were 1.) Mardis Gras in New Orleands (where we got engaged - on Valentine's Day - no lie) and 2.) The time we camped from Regina to Vancouver Island and back (tent camping - not the sissy kind)?
So, that's us. Pleased to meet you.
