This little gem of a cabin was a great little stay-cation spot for my husband and I to enjoy for our anniversary. Joe was so welcoming and even gave us a bottle of wine and an amazing chocolate bar as a gift - so sweet. There were pastries in the kitchen and coffee - both of which we didn't get to but it was such a nice touch. The bed is sooo comfortable as previous reviewers had stated. We enjoyed the hot tub quite a bit during our stay, it was the reason for choosing this Airbnb! The jets were not working the first day but Joe had them up and running the next day - be aware that only 2 of the jets work so if that's important to you in a hot tub, this might not be your hot tub dream - but it was HOT and relaxing regardless.
Thank you Joe (& Rachel) for hosting us and for providing a much needed relaxing trip!
Absolutely exceptional! This cabin is the perfect cozy spot for spending time in Portland! The neighborhood is nice and easy to navigate, the cabin itself is inviting and has everything you need, and he hot tub is a great way to relax after a day on the town. The bed is maybe the very best we've had anywhere and the fresh ground coffee made our mornings!
I had a great time here. The room is quiet, the neighborhood is near plenty of things to do, and the hosts are great. I arrived to fresh pastries and coffee, which was an awesome touch.
Wanted to book the Sunshine Cabin on super short notice, pretty late in the evening, & the hosts were super responsive & had me confirmed within minutes. The cottage itself is small, clean, well decorated, very cozy & very comfortable. Perfect amount of privacy, never felt like I was intruding on the hosts' space, or vice versa. Good location for N & NE PDX, but maybe a bit out of the way if you had business downtown. I'd definitely stay here again!
We spent a great weekend in the sunshine cabin! Rachel and Joe's cat (who we saw a couple times during our stay) was an added plus, and Rachel and Joe were very hospitable. They have a great DVD collection too! We took their advice and went on some great hikes around Forest Park and the gorge, and they are not exaggerating when they say that you can happily spend days at a time at the restaurants, bars, and shops that are within walking distance from their house.
Rachel and Joe (and their beautiful cabin) epitomize what Airbnb is all about. From check-in to check-out they've cultivated a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that truly must be experienced. The neighborhood is quiet, yet lively and walkable. The listing itself is a dream - a cloud bed; beautifully decorated and packed with all the amenities you'd want in your own home. Portland is a special city and somehow Rachel and Joe have found a way to capture that lightning in a bottle. If you're looking for the perfect getaway - look no further. I can't wait to come back!
(and there's a hot tub!!!!)
This place was simply one of the best Airbnb spots I've stayed in. The location is fantastic, and being able to come and go through the alley was so nice, and very private. We didn't sit in the hot tub, and I regret that now. Very cute, very cozy.
My husband and I stayed at the Concordia Cabin for our annual Portland Birthday Trip this February. It was a great home base for a great weekend. We really enjoyed being close enough to explore on foot a brand new (to us) neighborhood and the selection of restaurants in Alberta, being a short driving distance to downtown, and then after all that playing, having a really warm, comfortable place to settle into at night. The cabin was just as pictured, just as described, and had everything we needed to feel as if we were right at home for 3 nights.
Rachel and Joe set us up with house logistics and directions that were very clear. We had no trouble finding the cabin. When we arrived inside, we were instantly comfortable- The cabin was clean and warm, and there was wine, chocolate, local coffee, and a warm hot tub, all there to greet us upon our arrival. The thoughtfulness was very much appreciated, and set a nice tone for the weekend.
I'd also like to make a note about how comfortable the bed was, because that is alway important to me and something that makes me really nervous when traveling- I'm a *very* picky sleeper, but that bed was truly awesome. I slept like a ROCK!
My husband and I had a couple things we definitley wanted to check out in Alberta and in the city, but we also like to leave a day open for just exploring something new. The cabin was a short and pleasant walk to so many of the things we had on our "must see, must eat" list- the Kennedy School, Alberta Street, Salt & Straw, Tin Shed Cafe. Where we were located was also a really quick drive to Downtown where we finished up all of see's and eat's on our list. On Valentine's day morning we met Joe and he told us about some beautiful spots to check out along the Columbia River. We decided that would be a good thing to do on our explore day, so spent a good chunk of time driving down the Historic Columbia River Highway off of Troutdale and then hiked to the top of Multnomah Falls. It was a great recomendation, and for sure one of the most memorable parts of our trips.
Thanks for a hosting us, Joe and Rachel!
This was the perfect place to spend my first few nights in Portland! It was cozy and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended.
This little cabin was perfect for our short stay. It is centrally located and private, the NE neighborhood is just lovely. If you want a nice meal eat at Ex Patriot, or Beast... both are a bit expensive but worth it! The hot tub is out of commission, however Kennedy School soaking pool or Common Ground Wellness center can remedy that. The kitchen is small but useful if you plan on eating in. Bed and linens were clean and comfy. Rachel and Joe were more than accommodating about allowing late check out which was a huge plus. Thanks again!
Joe was a fantastic guest. Great communicator, super friendly and all-around nice guy. Highly recommended, and welcome back anytime!
Joe was an easy and awesome guest. Came in late, left kinda early. Cool to talk to...laid back kind of guy. I appreciate the hosting tips he gave me. Joe left the room tidy and clean, what more can I ask for? Come back and visit Joe and bring Rachel with you!
Rachel and Joe are a charming couple! They did not spend much time at the house, but when here were pleasant, gracious, quiet, and considerate. I would welcome their return.
Rachel and Joe were a pleasure to host. Our kind of people. Very sweet, communicative, polite, left the place in great shape. We'd be happy to host them again.
Rachel and Joe were perfect guests. They are welcome anytime.
