We are a married couple in our mid/late 30s, no children.
Friendly, down to Earth and easy to get along with. I work in environmental education, my wife is a therapist. We have both lived with roommates before and share space well.

Thanks Neam . We had a nice holiday in Vancouver mainly thanks to the comfort we had staying in your home . Great place to stay and very comfortable being close to allmost all the action Vancouver has to offer . I highly recomend the house to anyone who would like to enjoy Vancouver . Kimberley South
We stayed at Noam and Valerie's in October 2012. We just arrived in Vancouver and needed a "home base" before moving in to our new apartment.
The house is very well situated, near the cool Commercial Drive, and 5 minutes to the skytrain.
Noam and Valerie are nice and easygoing. They also took the time to answer our 1000 questions about the city - thanks, guys.
noam and his wife were very nice people to stay with.we didn have any problems and our stay in their home was very comfy.both of them were always helpfull when we needed advise.thanks noam.
Noam was out of town when we arrived, but Valerie was a welcoming hostess and told us all we needed to know to get ourselves started in Vancouver. The room is mostly comfortable; it does have low celings (the bed is on the floor which helps the room feel taller but would be hard for someone with knee or back problems) and is down a flight of stairs. We were able to store our large stroller/bike trailer in their garage outside. The shared bathroom upstairs is lovely. Noam, when he arrived, was very helpful with suggestions about interesting places to go and even lent us a bike and their washer and dryer.
As a courtesy, we would have preferred to know before arriving about some construction going on in an apartment adjacent to our room (the removal of a toilet and sink one day, painting, etc. the next with work beginning at 8am) but were generally not all that bothered by it since we rose early-ish and spent most of our time out of the house. They are very pleasant people and were kind enough to have a very open conversation with us over many topics our last night there.
I have no problems with Noam. He was quite accommodating. He was having remodeling done in his main room and I was offered a room in his basement. It should not be rented to anyone over 5' 8" tall. I had to duck to go through doorways. The eating vent was adjacent to the bedroom door. I ducked to go in and stood up into an airduct that was adjacent to the wall be hind the door jamb. I am sporting a number of scabs on my bald pate. There is a limited kitchen and a shared bath. I had access to do laundry. I went for inexpensive and if I hadn't scraped my scalp I would have potentially rated things higher. It was a reasonable value
Noam was a very friendly and kind host.
I stayed for two weeks in the basement.
I appreciated having my own space / privacy and not getting disturbed.
The washing machine works well and is free of charge :)
Noam and Val are great hosts. We loved our room, especially the reclining chair! Their house is in a great location, only 5 minutes walk to the SkyTrain from which you can get to pretty much anywhere. 5 minutes walk to the other side was the great Trout Lake park, with its amazing Saturday farmer's market. Noam was full of useful advice and helped us along the way, we'll definitely come stay here again if we're in Vancouver!
This was my first time visiting Vancouver and using airbnb - I had a great experience with both! Noam and Val were great hosts - very helpful and friendly. My friend and I felt right at home the moment we got there. The location of their place is super convenient since it's right near Skytrain as well as a bunch of shops/restaurants. If you're thinking about visiting Vancouver, I would highly recommend staying at their place!
Noam and Val were great hosts - friendly and informative. Having a recliner in the room was a great touch - so much more comfortable and homey than a regular hotel chair. The neighborhood is safe, quite, and near transportation (and near grocery and drug stores, for any last minute needs!) I'd definitely stay with Noam and Val again!
I spent a month in Noam's house. Noam and Valerie were really great hosts. They are easy-going, smiling and they helped me when I needed information about the city or anything else. I felt safe with them, they are friendly people who enjoy life! The room is in the basement, it was a bit chilly but Noam gave me a heater right away when I told him it was a bit cold downstairs. The room was perfectly warm with the heater. The room is exactly as presented on the pictures. There's a lot of storage for your stuff. The bed was comfy for one person, but lacks a bit of support for two people (my partner joined me for three nights). There is no dinning room but they have a table in the living room. I felt free to eat there when I wanted to. The house is in a nice neighborhood and really close to the skytrain. If you're looking for a nice and affordable room with great hosts, this is for you! :)
Nice, friendly people.
Naom is a good friend and a great host - very accommodating and gracious. I highly recommend staying at his place!
