Isabella is a wonderful host. She makes every effort to make your stay in Tuscany the best it can be. Her entire family makes sure of it. Everyone is so nice you feel like this is your own Italian family. Isabella is so good with languages and is also an expert on the region. Whenever someone needed a ride, directions or help planning something for the day Isabella was accommodating. I had a great stay at B and B La Rocca. Molte grazie Isabella!
So, I had mixed reactions about staying here, and none of it was Isabella's fault, but my own. The Villa is beautiful and old-world (I think it's 500 years old?) and in a charming town of Carmignano, which is near Prato, Pisa, Siena and Florence. If you're interested in seeing all of those major cities, and have a few days or weeks to do so, this is great place. Isabella and her family are lovely, warm people, who make you feel welcome and are more than willing to give you suggestions or to even arrange for outings and excursions. However, if you, like me, were only in the area to visit Florence, and you only have a day or two, I would recommend staying in the city proper. Public transportation is confusing at best, and the inn isn't in the closest of places (I took a train of Firenze SMN, a charter bus to Poggio a Caiano and then Isabella's father picked me up to drive me to Carmignano; there is a bus that goes direct from Carmignano to Prato Centrale, which you can take into Firenze, but trying to figure out the bus schedule is a nightmare). All in all, I had a nice stay, but most of my stress came from trying to figure out how to get to and from Firenze from the inn.
Thank you, Isabella, I loved to stay at your B&B. I had not much time but I enjoyed the views, the ancient building, the beautiful village surrounding, foggy views in the mornings and evenings, sunlight in the breakfast room and nice talks to others guests. Many thanks to your mother for introducing me to the house and the surrounding when arriving and to you for making my arrival easy. I enjoyed and would like to come back. Best regards and ciao ciao!
We had a wonderful time at this peaceful and charming house. Our hostess and her family were kind and helpful.
A wonderful place for a lovely peaceful vacation. And if you have a car, you will double your joy! The villa is beautiful. Isabella and her lovely family are home worming and very nice people. Thanks again!
I liked it. The region is very interesting. In Carmignano you will find one of the greatest paintings of the Renaissance, will be impressed by the amazing views and wonderful nature. The village is located relatively close to the city of Prato, Florence and it is convenient to get in Carmignano. Nearby there are two villas of the Medici family and the city of Leonardo Vinci, reachable by a wonderful mountain road.
Villa of Isabella has a long and interesting history. This is a special place for those who like to live in a place where you feel the old days. It was pretty neat, very tasty dinners. Be sure to book dinner at the Villa. Isabella is very delicious cooking.
I loved staying at Isabella's beautiful Tuscan villa. I had such an amazing time, that I didn't want to leave. The home is set on a hill in a lovely town (Carmignano...where everything is in walking distance) that is within 30 minutes of Florence (highly recommend having a car). The Villa is just ridiculously beautiful, with antique furniture, frescoes, hidden doorways and Italian landscape paintings made by Isabella's grandfather. The view was stunning. It was so peaceful! There are birds, cats, dogs, and chickens calmly wandering around this gorgeous estate, it could not be more authentic and untouched. Isabella and her father were tremendous hosts, who both speak multiple languages! Isabella cooked us a delicious four course meal made with local produce, wine, and olive oil all made locally. The price is amazing for the quality and charm. You can also have a beautiful romantic dinner in the "tower" with the best view of Tuscany. We met and had dinner with the other lovely guests who had traveled from all over the world. I highly recommend a stay here and hope we have the opportunity to return one day.
Real histoircal house with good view of toscana. Isabella was super nice and kind I did not feel any inconvenience during my stay.
Isabella is very very friendly and she is a great cook! The town is like a foodie heaven. The resturant that we randomly picked made great food better than many ones in the country and inexpensive! Honestly the house is a little bit old though and there were mosquito. Except that, everything else is perfect. Btw, we met awesome people there! Wonderful experience! Absolutely recommend it if you would like to enjoy the contry life and not too care about fancy accommodation!
