We loved staying on the Issaquah Docks.... full of flowers and friendly neighbors. We had morning coffee on the living room deck and grilled dinner on the lower decks. The living room and dining room were great for entertaining and lounging. The spectacular road biking, trail running and kayaking made it a perfect vacation for our family reunion.
Our stay at the Wildflower was just like the title for the listing; MAGICAL! I booked the Wildflower as celebration splurge for my parents' visit from Virginia to celebrate my son's and father's birthday and my parent's anniversary. All the same day, a trifecta celebration. My parents are sailors so I wanted to book something special that would give us close access to the Louis Vuitton Cup events. The Wildflower definitely filled and exceeded that expectation. I hoped that booking something in the Sausalito harbor would give us a fun place to stay and allow us that special connection felt when enjoying a family boating vacation without having the logistics of actually taking the boat out. I enjoy learning the history of the places we stay and found the history of the houseboat community fascinating. Walking down the container garden lined pier we felt like a part of the artistic community even if just for the weekend. The neighbors were very friendly. The whole family loved it. The kids loved the art sculptures inside, the chalkboard walls and games, watching the birds and seals congregate on the nearby anchored floating pier, and taking a ride on the kayak as mom paddled. My retired builder father raved about the unique Japanese architecture. I loved being able to have a home base to enjoy my family without the stress of being in my own home. Using the fabulous kitchen and grill on the floating dock made meal prep a fun family event. The manager Ricardo was so friendly and made sure we were comfortable and made extra effort to share additional information with us about happenings in the area. Our stay here was really fabulous.
My wife and I along with our 2 adult children spent a long weekend in August at the Magical Sausalito Houseboat. Everything was very easy. Ricardo was waiting for us when we arrived and the house was as described in the pictures. We had a wonderful time and when we are in this area again hope to stay here. This property is a great bargain!
Definitely THE place to stay in the bay aera! Beautifully decorated, gorgeous view on the Bay, quiet neighborhood a few miles from the crowd of SF, and the unique life of a Houseboat in one of the nicest docks of the region.
And if you have any question or issue, Ricardo will be happy to help you.
Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Beautiful location and what great hospitality ! Riccardo was very helpful in every aspect! Bob
This is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever stayed in -- floating or otherwise. It's perfect for entertaining a small group or having a unique, intimate weekend for a couple as well. The location at the end of the dock provides sweeping views of downtown San Francisco and we spent our each morning kayaking around the bay. The inside of the property was immaculate with a large kitchen and social rooms to enjoy the incredible views.
Please don't ever stay here. I want this place for myself next time I am in town.
I've been looking at doing a Sausalito houseboat rental for a while and it finally came together. I'm glad it was Patti's place. The home is awesome. Nicely furnished and very well maintained. It was also in one of the best locations (facing straight out to the bay ). Patti was very responsive in getting things set up on short notice and Ricardo was great in getting us checked in and out and making sure everything ran smoothly while we were there. I loved being on the water and used the kayak every day. I also loved the "neighborhood". Everyone on the dock was very friendly. If you like being on the water, I would highly recommend it!!
Our high expectations were more than met during or visit. A wonderful, comfortable space with wonderful views. A great location for either a quick trip into the city or outdoor activities in the Marin headlands, Muir Woods and such. I loved the master bedroom and the tatami room adjacent. Kids happily spread out in the lower level beds. The kitchen was a pleasure. Well stocked for cooking and with plenty of dishes, glasses etc for my family and even the friends who joined us for dinner one night. (I hate renting a house and finding you have to wash the few spoons provided that you used at dinner before you can eat breakfast the next day. No chance of that here.). We had a few questions that were always very quickly responded to. We would love to go back and hope to sometime.
Had a fantastic time at the Wildflower! We enjoyed nights out on the terrace, and dinner on the floating dock watching the moon rise over the bay! The location is very central. We rode our bikes into downtown Sausalito & walked to great restaurants and bars close to the house! Our experience was unforgettable and we look forward to visiting again soon!!
This place is just amazing. Loved the style, the amount of space and the comfortable yet sophisticated decor. This boat is in a great spot with beautiful views. Kayaking from the private doc out back was wonderful. There is a spacious and very functional kitchen. Ricardo was always available for anything we needed. It was just the perfect place to stay. I'm almost hesitant to give such a good review because I don't want it to get booked up for next summer! We loved, loved, loved it and will be back!
