Meghan and Vincent are such welcoming and warm people that I felt at home straight away. The room is bright and spacious with plenty of places to put stuff. The house is charming and the front garden so inviting to sit in the sun. Bonus points for the bike hooks and good shower. This is my first airbnb experience, so I can't compare with other houses/hosts, but if its anything like being at the little yellow house, I'm definitely doing it again!
The little yellow house was the perfect place to stay in Oakland/Berkeley! The hosts were so warm and welcoming that very soon we felt like being housemates rather than AirBnB guests! The house (as well as the guest room) is spacious, the kitchen big and the front garden invites to relax in the sun. I can highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get an authentic taste of the very special atmosphere Berkley/Oakland is praised for.
Hosts were awesome people. Room, bathroom and house was clean. House was two blocks away from a bus that takes you to downtown Berkeley, so this house is perfect for people visiting Berkeley. It was also less than a mile from the Ashby Bart, and the walk to and from are in a lit and safe neighborhood.
Meghan and Vincent were really cool and made my first Airbnb experience a positive one. They were very thoughtful and inviting; next time I know not to be so shy. My daughter and I never felt like we were intruding or left out. The bedroom was roomy with lots of closet space; more than enough space for two people. And, there was ample street parking. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you Meghan & Vincent!
Our visit with Megan and Vincent has been our best airbnb experience until now. We felt welcome and at home already when we arrived. We feel lucky to have met such wonderful people and had the opportunity to stay in the little yellow house.
The room is perfect for two with room to hang clothes up, etc..
BART is a short walk away and it is easy both to get to Berkeley and San Francisco.
We will definitely recommend this place to others and hope that we come back here one day.
Meghan was a great host. She made us feel completely at home, and our room was clean and comfortable. Parking was super easy, and we were close to everything. I would recommend this place to anyone. Meghan also has a couple of amazing cats. I personally am not a cat person, but for these little guys I couldn't help but make an exception. They are very cute and super friendly. Thanks Meghan!
Jimena and I arrived exhausted after a 5 day road trip to a bottle of wine and a wonderful home. Meghan was not only an excellent, relaxed host – she was just what I needed upon starting up in a new city 5000 km from home. She helped with all the best places to go and to avoid, find great affordable food, and went way above and beyond to make sure that we felt accommodated.
We felt immediately welcome in the cosy yellow house, not only from Vincent and Meghan but also with their social circle and friends. We were never made to feel like an intrusion on their lives, and they accepted us with open arms. I can say that we are truly lucky to have come across such wonderful people, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience to kick off life here in the Bay Area.
We had great communication with Meghan leading up to and during our trip to San Fran. The home was warm and cozy and full of snippets of art work - we loved it. The cats are "funny", somehow one cat merges a meow with hello, you have to hear it to believe it - be ready for a real belly laugh!!!
Megham is a very warm and welcoming person and we thank her for letting us into her home. We were late on the first night due to traffic and our hosts stayed up on a week night to ensure we were happy and safe - a real personal touch. We had fresh, clean towels and a bottle of wine waiting for us - very thoughtful.
The trip to SF is approx 30 mins by train and they run until midnight at weekends (not sure about the weeknights), there was more than enough time to enjoy the city and save lots of money by not being in a $200 hotel, located on a main road in a busy city
I trust you will have a great stay, with great hosts, located close to the city. Ask about the SF free events, you can easily fill you time in an expensive city :o)
We really enjoyed staying at Meghan's place. She and her housemate Vincent are very kind and very helpful, supporting us wherever they could during our search for a permanent residence. We felt very welcome, even with our small child and if we would need a residence again in the bay area we would not hesitate staying at their place.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the cozy little yellow house. Meghan could not have been a better host. We had a hectic schedule of activities so we're grateful to have had a wonderful place to stay.
We found easy parking, the neighbors were friendly, our sleep was restful, we loved our room (and fresh sunflower!), and we will be back to make time to explore and take her up on the invitation to pick from her awesome garden.
