I won't be in Isla in December, but it's a great time to be there! Enjoy your vacation, Fabio.
Super cute apartment away from the major tourist area! Mango Cafe is at the corner and Monchie's restaurant - which is excellent - is across the street. You can walk to the grocery store as well. Otherwise you'll need a moped or a golf cart. Or, take advantage of the super cheap taxis on the island. When you're at the apartment, be sure you don't miss the rooftop lounge. We didn't realize it was there until our last night. (I was at a conference for much of our stay, so at least I have an excuse!) You don't have immediate beach access here, but it's worth being off the beaten path to get away from all the tourists especially if you're going in high season. The apartment sits on one of the island's few through streets, so you'll get a lot of cars, taxis, mopeds and golf cars coming through .. didn't bother me at all, but my husband is a light sleeper. All in all, it was a great find!
We stayed at La Rinconada for 7 nights and loved it! Great, quiet location to walk around the island and experience life on this great little island. The apartment had everything we needed and love the fact that there was a great little restaurant just across the road. We will recommend La Rinconada to our air B&B friends.
Thank you for a great stay!
The appartment to the fullest lived up to the expectations. We really loved the appartment which have a nice bathroom, a functional kitchen for cooking breakfast and light dinners and generally nice place to hang out. We also enjoyed the common tarrace.
The location is also very good - located in a residential area, which is nice as food comes good and cheap.
In addition - We found it very nice that Fabio provided us with a purified watertank so we didnt have to drag the water ourselves :)
Thanks for a great stay.. We will definately reccomend this place to anyone.
Great apartment, had the best time with my wife and 4 year old daughter. The apartment is in the center of the island, we walked everywhere when we were in the mood to enjoy nature and could catch a taxi to anywhere in the island for 30-40 pesos.
Wife was very happy with the apartment and wants to go back, as does our daughter!
As for the island, it was so much better than Cancun. We went over for a daytrip once, in addition to another visit to Chichen Itza, and we were so glad we ended up on Isla Mujeres instead of Cancun - was a totally different experience.
We spent a week at La Rinconada and really enjoyed it. Fabio was really helpful with everything. Great place!
very spacious accommodation with ample facilities including a full range of pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and appliances! fully self contained apartment. TV in perfect working order with a large selection of both english and spanish speaking channels. Fabio provided excellent communications leading upto and during our stay. Highly recommended. Thanks Fabio
I love having my own apartment while visiting the island for 3 weeks. Also love being away from all the tourist and living with the very friendly locals. It only cost 13 pesos ($1.00) to the center on town, or a 20 minute walk. Many delicious taquerias around the neighborhood. The apartment was very spacious and very clean. I had my private balcony which was great for my morning coffee. The room has a queen size bed, the mattress is "extra firm" it took me several days to get used to it. The kitchen is well equipped with a good chopping knife, cutting board, dishes and very good quality pots and pans. The AC is located in the bedroom and works very well, you only need during the night. The hot water is plentiful. Fabio was away during my one week stay and I was welcomed by his cousin Claudio, property manager. Claudio was was super nice and resolves things very quickly. As a Chicago host I know how important it is to have someone who is truly invested in making you stay a pleasant one and Claudio did so very graciously.
We had an amazing time in Isla Mujeres and our apartment was just what we needed. We loved staying in a neighborhood with locals rather than the touristy areas. We did not meet Fabio, but his cousin Claudio greeted us with all the information that we needed for our stay at La Rinconada apartments. They provided Wi-Fi and we even rented a golf cart to drive around the island from a lady staying in one of the other apartments. There is also a great little place down the street to have breakfast called Mango Cafe. We had a magical time!! Thanks!
