I'm a native Texan (Austin/El Paso) who moved to Brooklyn in 1984; long enough to really know the place, recent enough to remember how overwhelming it can be to visit New York for the first time. I've always wanted to spend extended periods traveling, something AIRBNB now helps me do -- whether as a guest in Nicaragua or Utah or as a host right here in Brooklyn, my favorite place in the world.
The fact that you're checking out Brooklyn AIRBNB listings means that you're either a) a very savvy traveller b) have family or friends in the area you're visiting, or c) both. Whichever describes you, I would love to be your host.
My house was built in 1908, one of 206 historic homes in a neighborhood billed as "a garden within the city". It's a great walking neighborhood, one of the most diverse, multi-ethnic, and eclectic sections of the City, with wonderful restaurants, music, and stores, and two blocks away from our version of Central Park.
At the same time, a six minute walk gets you to the B/Q, minutes away from the sights of Manhattan.
