We are a couple who loves to travel, thus hoping that other people can enjoy our apartment when we are abroad.
The apartment was as amazing as it looks and more. It was in a perfect location, beautifully designed, and super spacious.
We had a great time in Norrebro, eating out (at Relae, Manfred, almost next door, delicious food and great wines, too), biking around town and relaxing in Assistens cemetery, which is close by and an incredible oasis of calm in the city. Nanna’s flat is indeed beautiful, all white and bright, with interesting design touches and a huge library of books (in English ! but who has time to read in Copenhagen in summertime ?). But its main asset is indeed the light : it is flooded with it from all sides and I guess it must be amazing even in winter.
The only small drawback for us was the fact that the bedroom was taken by a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a rail of clothes on the wall, all full. There was no room for our things so we had to put them on the floor (and we had only two small suitcases). We suggested, if a shelf cannot be vacated for the guests, to provide a few extra clothes hangers on the rail for them (we could find only one). I am sure Anna, whom we saw briefly and who seems very nice and committed to her guests, will find a way to solve this little problem. Communication with her beforehand was very easy and prompt.
Nanna had warned us about trucks passing by in the street in the morning, they do sometimes, but it is only punctual and didn’t bother us. The noise was more of an issue at night, on Friday especially obviously. Makes you wonder though : maybe those late parties are only a mid-summer thing ? but since the area is mostly populated by (very) young families with (very) cute tots and lots of (super-cute) babies, how do they manage ? do Danish babies wear tiny earplugs ? They looked so fresh-faced and rested in the morning, so it remains a mystery…
So we had great days but a few sleepless nights ! I guess this is the price to pay for being in the middle of things… The flat is indeed in an exceptional location, two streets away from Jaegersbrogade, the coolest street in Copenhagen. And anyway this fantastic Northern light saved everything. The small herb garden on the window sill was also lovely, we hope the tomatoes grow red and tasty ! All in all, we would gladly recommend Nanna’s flat to our friends.
Nanna (email hidden), even though she was not there to greet us she left us with all the helpful information that was needed to make our trip a great one.
Do not hesitate to stay with them :)
Nanna was the perfect host! On our arrival we found a 3-page letter with all the useful information and Nanna's tips! :) Also the communication before arrival went super well and easy!
The place itself is just beauuutiful - it's on a corner, so all the rooms have huge windows and it's super light in the flat! There is such beautiful furniture, a kitchen that invites for cooking, comfortable beds and its in the best area! I will highly recommend this place to my friends!
