My name is Amanda - I'm 28 and live in Sydney, Australia. I am visiting Japan in June with two friends and we would love to stay with a local whilst there.
I'm an avid traveller and love to experience new things. Just went to New York in June and Kenya/Tanzania in January which was an amazing experience, and its added great travel memories along with all my other trips to France, Belgium, Mexico, India, Israel, Egypt, Belize, Italy, Switzerland and plenty more. I've visited Tokyo once before when I was 12, so it's been a long time and am keen to really drink in the city like never before and would love your help.
This will technically be my third Airbnb experience - stayed with some great hosts in New York last year and had an absolute blast! Plus when I went to Spain last year, one of the best things was staying at apartments being rented by locals rather than a hotel. I've made some great friends in Madrid because of that, so I'm a big fan of this type of travel.
Sam, Karynne and I would work hard to be great guests at your home - I know its cliche, but we would treat it as our own... if not better really! Keeping the place neat and tidy, and respecting the apartment would be important and I guess we're looking to stay with a host that's happy to share recommendations and insights on the city. That being said, we are very independent travelers :)
I work as a marketing manager for a Sydney metro newspaper, so love a good news story and political debate. The historical side of Tokyo definitely appeals and I love love love good food. My two friends and I will be eating out lots to make the most of it all as well as sight seeing, karaoke bar hopping and generally hitting the shops and galleries.
Very excited about this trip but will leave it at that for now and thanks for your consideration!
