I'm a freelancer working in the solar and renewables industry. I spend much of the summer in London in my lovely2-bedroomed flat by the river. I always say it is the only place i would live in London as it is such a peaceful and relaxing place to live in. I love to drink my morning coffee overlooking the river or take a lunchtime dip in the heated outdoor pool. Here is real community living, you meet the neighbours on the way to the pool or over a barbeque by the river or just sharing a glass of wine and the fun of the day.
Winters I often spend in the Austrian alps where I love to ski off-piste and back country tour - I like to get away from the crowds and love the incredible beauty of the (website hidden) the late summer I am often in Spain where my family live. My main "likes" are skiing, writing, reading, cinema, salsa dancing and travelling - most importantly for the people you meet as much as the places.
I tend to like quirky offbeat films such as the last Almodovar, broken embraces about a blind writer tracing back the last 14 years of his life...it has a hilarious start that sets the scene but the story unfolds in an intriguing and absorbing manner. One of my favourite books is "winter in Madrid" which is set during the Spanish civil war. It gives an incredible sense of the place, hard facts of history interwoven with a romantic story. I know Spain very well and I liked it also because it filled in a gap in history i knew very little about.
So that's a bit about me. I do know London pretty well and can guide you to some nice things to see and do. I look forward to welcoming you in my home and also to meeting more of you hosts out there!
