I love architecture, gardening, interior design, my family and my dog.
Jennifer made us feel at home immediately in her fascinating historic house. Clean, quiet with our own bathroom! During a nice Breakfast we learned about the background of her so well renovated home. Thanks
Great clean house, good hospitality, nice people.
What a beautiful home in a beautiful setting! The house is exquisitely renovated, appointed with cozy linens, and sparkling clean. The hosts were warm and communicative throughout the planning and arrival, and coordinated lovely continental breakfasts to fit our schedule. Wonderful to escape the bustle of New Haven (~12 minutes away). There are surprisingly marvelous eateries in Woodbridge (Thai Stories, Wheeler's Farm to Table) recommended by our hosts.
As always, Jennifer and Bob were gracious hosts. The room was clean, the setting stunning and convenient. We will definitely be back.
Bob and Jennifer were very friendly and accommodating, as was their very sweet golden retriever! The room was spacious and comfortable, and convenient to New Haven and Westville. We had a very pleasant stay.
We were 3 hours late arriving and were welcomed as if on time. Accommodations were better than described. I had not realized breakfast was included and it was exactly what we both enjoy. The dog and cats were a pleasure - all very dear. We had a great stay and would recommend to all who value a great location with convenient access. The house's history adds to charm.
Jennifer is an awesome host; the home is stunning; the location hugely convenient; and the accommodations were most comfortable. We will be back!
Jen and Bob were really nice hosts. We had some unusual needs that they accommodated happily without ever giving the slightest hint of being put-out. The house and gardens around it are more beautiful than the pictures can show! They have restored this large Victorian carriage house to an inspiring condition and continue working on it which I'm sure will make it even better. Keep in mind It's not terribly close to downtown New Haven.
One of the highlights was the fresh rhododendrons in vases in our bedroom and other rooms in the house (we were there in May). Lots of fresh fruit for breakfast to go with the other choices. The house was very clean and neat. The bed had a high quality mattress. We had our own private bathroom. We look forward to staying there again.
Our (one night) stay with Jennifer and Bob was wonderful. They are both architects and their home is gorgeous. They are warm and friendly and relaxed. Our room and bath were comfortable, we had a lovely breakfast in the sunny open kitchen-dining area and then were on our way to our daughter's graduation from Yale. Because parking would be next to impossible, Jennifer offered to drive us. She is generous and very pleasant. Their dog and two cats were so cute I am almost tempted to get a pet! I highly recommend their hospitality.
We were return visitors. This is a great place to stay! In our previous stay we mentioned a weak wi-fi signal upstairs in the bedroom, and just want to say that everything is working fine now, and the owners are wonderful hosts.
