Monica's place was beautiful!! Unfortunately we had some less than kind weather during our stay that spurred a day trip or two. However, our first day there we got to enjoy some sunshine by her serene pool area. Such a lovely spot. Monica and her family were wonderful as well with daily bedroom maintenance and breakfast. A real treat!
We had a fantastic stay at Monica's Villa and both her and her children went above and beyond in helping us navigate Tuscany. If you plan to take day trips to Florence/ Sienna than I would recommend renting a car, as the villa is tucked into the hills and thus slightly out of the way from the nearest train stop in Prato. However the property itself is worth the trip - we loved it! Thank you so much (website hidden). Monica recommended taking a day trip to Lucca and it was totally worth it. Such a beautiful little town. If you go, rent a bike and drive atop the wall that surrounds the city. You wont' regret it!

Monica the host met us on the half way and led us to the cottage. She and her daughter were very hospitable and gave us tips on restaurants, wineries and shopping. The place we stayed in is a small cottage near Monica's house. The cottage is old and has not very functional kitchen but there is a kettle and a small refrigerator. Monica provided us with a nice breakfast every morning. The place was very clean. Monica had the place cleaned every day with supply of fresh towels. I must admit though that the smell of moldiness was a bit disturbing so we slept with open windows. There was an insect repellent device left for us so insects were not a problem. Also Monica provided us with some blankets and even a heater so we were comfortable with the temperature in the house. The cottage was on the hill, so it is kind of a tricky ride especially at night. It was a nice place to stay in for a couple of nights. Oh, and Monica's dog Lapo was also very hospitable and always met us with wagging tail :)
Really stunning - just like the pictures! We were made to feel really welcome and at home here. The room was beautiful and the white fluffy dressing gowns were a really cosy, lovely touch! Would definitely recommend this place, especially if you're looking to visit Florence as it's only 30 minutes by train. You will definitely need a car to get around though.
The cottage in which we stayed was closest to the house and built into the hillside. It was very clean and neat. It was also in September very humid and damp. Monica came in daily and straightened up, gave us fresh towels which was a good thing because they never would have dried. In the evening, mosquitoes were definitely an issue. No fan was provided and our host seemed surprised when we requested one.
Breakfast consisted of dry toast, jam, two plain pastries, juice, hard fruit, and coffee. Although the table was nicely set, we were never asked what we would like, if we wanted cereal, eggs, or the kind of fruit.
The setting is lovely but in need of tending. Hedges were overgrown, flowers and bushes in need of care, a lot of trimming and pruning needed. It's obvious there is a garden plan and walking under the arbor lining the property is pretty cool but the overall impression is of overgrown vegetation.
On our first day when we arrived there was no water. It was lunchtime so Monica recommended three restaurants. After driving 20 minutes we found the first restaurant was closed! However the second restaurant she recommended was open and excellent. The water problem was fixed by the time we returned.
On the second morning there was no hot water. We were sent to the second cottage on the property and there was no hot water there either. It was fortunate on that day that we had scheduled no tours because we never would have made the appointed times. Monica was extremely apologetic and the problems were eventually fixed. She supplied us with some delicious local cookies when we left as a show of apology.
Overall, although Monica is making an effort, it fell short of our expectations.
Monica was welcoming and flexible with our late arrival and our morning breakfasts were memorably beautiful and serene. The estate is surrounded with beautiful glimpses at every turn.
If you're looking for a quiet getaway in Tuscany with short drives to cultural sites, shopping and all the great things southern Tuscany has to offer, you can't go wrong here !
Villa Organi is a short drive outside of Prato in a peaceful village were you can truly relax. The listing is just as described, and Monica is the perfect host. You get a beautiful breakfast every morning and even though the cottage is close to the main house, privacy is not a problem at all. A car is needed though !
