Hi I'm Sakchai from Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia.
I am the owner of Dreamcaught tree houses.
The treehouse is really amazing and the place it is really an adventure.
We were there at the end of December and it was very VERY cold. We had 10 degrees Celsius in the morning in an almost open treehouse
The treehouse is in a very shadowy valley and it is a treehouse which means almost no sun gets to warm up the place. After rainy season the place was all damp, wet, moldy and cold. It is probably perfect in the very hot season but not so before.
It is very secluded and lonely - really nice for honeymooners. You only have the choice to eat there if you don't have a motorbike- the food is ok. And you are dependent on the taxi driver from the house - and he is very expensive.
Nevertheless it is a little paradise 90 minutes from Chiang May. The people are very friendly - but I don't think I would book it again.
Get prepared for paradise. Sakchai's treehouse is beautiful, with sunlight from all directions when you wake up. No insects or other seem to be able to break the treehouses fortress like barriers, and if you want some extra protection there'(email hidden) for the bed.
The property is not located in Chiangmai city but north of it (and all the tourists) in the gorgeous wilderness north of the city. If you want to "see the sites" you can easily arrange rides with the attentive (and amazing) staff. But be prepared for a meditative wilderness experience not a packaged thailand tour hotel.
Kudos to Singkum who not only got me everyone I wanted to go around the city but also helped me mail a letter and showed me the sites of the city I didn't know to ask to see.
nice to have a place right by the stream. I took a bike out but it's super steep on the hills. Don't recommend. it's quiet except for cars sometimes. There are some dogs that bark as well. it's clean. Workers try to accommodate. Very nice.
Dream Caught Treehouses is true to its names it is 'A Real Dream!'
I had the best time there and the hosts were very attentive and made me feel like part of the family.
I would not hesitate at all to go back there and look forward to visiting again.
It is a tranquil, picturesque exquisite paradise!!
Ideal for singletons, couples and families. I would honestly say a must for couples....
The treehouse experience at DreamCaught was one of our best experiences of Thailand, it was truly a dream come true. This unique accommodation style offers a space for holiday, sanctuary, rest, reflection, and to be in union with nature. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We felt at home in what can best be described as a family atmosphere and enjoyed their local cuisine immensely. We highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to retreat, enjoy nature, connect with the local northern Thai culture and enjoy a great holiday. Gratitude and big thanks to an amazing team of people and genuine hearts of DreamCaught. It was a most memorable experience for us.
One of the best place we have stayed in, not only in Thailand but around the world.
If you love the nature, want to meet amazing local Thai people, looking for peace and relaxation, want to stay in an incredible Tree house, want to enjoy some of the best Thai food we have had, like yoga or meditation, want to go trekking and walking, want to be away from Chiang Mai while only a short drive and many more great reasons... this is a place not to be missed.
Shane and his team of local people are wonderful and will do their best to make sure you have an excellent stay. Tree house, villa, camping or bungalow, this is a must for nature lovers and for all of the above. We will definitely be going back next year and cannot wait to return to Dreamcaught.
Chisel & I have known Shane [Sakchai] for many years through his Resturant in Port Douglas. We were planning a holiday in Thailand and Shane insisted we come visit him in Chiang Mai. We had friends with us he said bring them along as well. It was the highlight of our trip. We were the first to stay in the resort, in a beautifull tree house. Shane and his staff showed us all of the attractions near and far. The Golden Triangle, bamboo rafting, elephant trecking plus all of the sights in Chaing Mai. He was planting hundreds of roses, it will be a sight when they all flower. Hope we can go back soon for another visit.
