When I am not working in the garden here at Ty Skol I am making stained glass and organising stained glass classes.
Just back from a long weekend in Brittany. Our last 'port of call' was Ty Skol. It's a fabulous buidling with an interesting history, tastefully renovated and impeccably clean. It is a calm and peacful house. Our room was charming; I only wish we had been able to stay longer. Claire is a warm and friendly host who welcomed us into her beautiful home. On arrival we chatted over a cup of tea - a nice touch. Breakfast the following day was absolutely lovely. I have no hesitation in recommending Ty Skol - amazing value for money. Thank you Claire :)
Claire was a great host and conversationalist, really interesting talking to her over the delicious dinner she cooked for us. Very comfortable and stylish accommodation. Would happily stay there again and recommend to others.
I and my friend stayed for three nights at Ty Skol in Bretagne with Claire Morris and it was a pleasure in every way. The house is just wonderful, with really cosy bedrooms, quality beds and big bathroom. Breakfast was served in the big kitchen and was both rich and tasteful not to mention the good dinner that Claire cooked for us for a very reasonable price. We just enjoyed our stay in the middle and rural Bretagne where we had great views from our bedroom' s window. This place is a perfectly located for making shorter walks and trips not only in the neighbourhood where there are several villages to visit but also to other remarkable places in Bretagne. Thank you very much Claire Morris.
That's the second time I'm booking with Claire, as we are spending our holiday in britanny. The 4 of us did occupy 2 rooms, on the second and the third floor. Matress and bed sheets are first class, and we all spent a very good night, only disturbed by the ....silence! the place is indeed very quiet, and the only noise we hear is the gentle creaking of the parquet, which has been kept original . The breakfast, is simple, and perfect to my taste : fresh bread, croissants du matin, salted butter, cereals, faisselle, juice, and french press made coffee (or tea/chocoloate)...that is the garantee to the day on a good foot. For the ones who want to relax, Claire's ty skol is the ideal place.
I am very happy to have found a "airbnber" so close to my chunk of brittany. It happens that Caire's house is only a few minutes away by car from the house we are renovating. so it's good to have her as neighbour. I can then improve my scottish accent. Claire's house is adorable. It's indeed in an old school, and we are living in the teacher's house . The stairs that lead to the roooms that she rent, are creaky, and original. The room that I occupied is very neat, and simple, just under the roof. The bathroom is just beside, and has been completely renovated when she moved in. It's a very calm and bucolic place. You can see the cows grazing, through the velux of the bathroom, so it makes the shaving moment much more interesting than looking at your own face in the mirror. Breakfast time : fresh baguette with salty butter, and home made marmelade, with good coffee, faisselle and juice : what else do we need to start a day ? My stay was great, and I am looking forward to meet claire again upon my next visit , in August. This time, I'll probably live in my own house, but hey! it 's good to have great neighbours....Central Brittany is not crowded with BnB, I was lucky to find Ty Skol, and I recommend Claire's place to anybody who wants quality time.
Claire have been a kind and quiet guest, she left the room neat and tidy. Thanks!
I love visiting Claire at Tyskol, I try to spend as much time here in the holidays as possible. The house is beautiful and each bedroom has it's own unique design giving you the perfect excuse to visit time and time again.
It's difficult to drag yourself away from the garden which is peaceful, relaxing and a haven for wildlife as well as the weary traveller!
Nothing I enjoy more than sipping a G&T and watching the (animal) world go by.
Claire is a fantasic cook and host so another reason why it's hard to drag yourself away from Tyskol. Counting down the days till July!xx
Ty Skol is one of the most relaxing, beautiful, tranquil places I have stayed in. Claire is a superb host who can provide you with ample information on the best towns and villages to visit; the most interesting historical sites to explore; and which walks are suitable for a gentle amble or a more strenuous day-long hike. As a vegetarian I especially appreciate her fine cooking skills! Much of the food you may eat comes from her own organic veg plot.
If you get bored of beautiful Breton villages you could always stay an enjoy one of Claire's stained glass workshops. I could not believe that I was able to create something so beautiful in a day - well worth it.
