I have grown up here in Vancouver, traveled tons but still always return home. It is a beautiful city! I am a nutritionist and yoga teacher.
This is the very top (ie garden level, 1st, 2nd and this the 3rd) of an old wooden heritage house. The house is quite shabby, as is the entrance. Once you make your way upstairs to Wendy's apartment though, it is really lovely. The apartment runs length wise under the peak of the roof. The bedroom is large and separate. The bedroom is on the north side so has views of the North Shore Mountains over the rooftops. The rest of the apartment is all one space (except for the very small bathroom). The lounge is in the centre and the kitchen/ dining area is at the south end of the apartment. The large windows here let in lots of natural light. The only downsides were the bathroom (you have to sit on the floor of the bathtub to shower) and the lack of laundry (a short bus ride away). Those are the only drawbacks. It is in a great area for the beach, UBC and buses downtown. Grocery shopping and great restaurants/ takeaways are within walking distance. I think the price honestly reflects the facilities.
Wendy is lovely and very helpful. I would happily stay here again.
Cute and cosy, very clean and the host Wendy was more than helpful. Great balcony and location. However, no TV or laundry was disappointing and having to sit down in the shower because the ceiling is so low were big drawbacks for me and probably wouldn't see me stay their again.
