What an amazing place! We loved our stay at Gunnar's place and wish we could have stayed for longer! Not many hosts send spare keys to you via plane (from Reykjavik to Akureyri) within an afternoon! Perfect experience
Beautiful house in a beautiful place.
From Gunnar I only have great things to say :)
He is a very kind person and his house is amazing !!!
The place is even better as in the photos .
The communication with Gunnar went smoothly . We experienced some troubles with the car during our stay at his place because of the weather conditions and he was more than helpful as he always tarted to meetlour needs and expectations . If you are deciding to travel to Iceland I strongly recommend Gunnar places . The house we had rent in Akureyri it is so beautiful , so clean and the view from the living is superb at the day time as well in the night while he has this amazing all glass front windows u can see the city lights in the night , the panoramic view is absolutely wonderful . In the house you will find anything you need to cook and etc .
We will definitely go back during summer time as well !
Best regards and congrats to Gunnar for being such a great host :)
Madaline is perfect guest to host and I do recommend her highly, and she is welcome back in the summer as well, 5 stars :)
We stayed in the apartment for a week over New Year. ( this is our 2nd visit to Iceland) It's a lovely house/apartment with fantastic views.
Highly recommended for New Year as perfect view of the firework craziness :)
Great location for a bit a peace and quiet. Local convenience shops, bakery, and bus stops to Reykjavik 10 minutes walk away.
Gunnar was a lovely host, very friendly and great with communication.
Would definitely visit again, anytime of the year!!! (But hoping for Summer next)
This home is nestled on the east mountain side of Ejyafjordur with stunning views of Akureyri from the Living Room. We watched an incredible fireworks display at New Year as well as dramatic Northern Lights from this vantage point. The house was warm given the cold Arctic air that occasionally blasted the mountain side. One bonus was the hot tub which the children took to despite the winter temperatures! the house is well equipped and Gunner was on hand if we needed advice. Gunner went out of his way to hire us with a large 4 x 4 vehicle, even meeting us as Keflavik! We highly recommend this home.
Beautiful location, saw the Northern lights from here on Christmas Day! And a great host as well, very responsive to all enquiries and questions. Also very accommodating, we were initially going to be 6 guests and even though there's only 5 beds, Gunnar offered to add an additional bed. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay there!
Gunnar was a very good host, he made sure we had everything that we agreed on and needed. The place is bigger than it looks on the pictures, the location is close to a swimming pool, and the view is magnificent. Bus connections to Reykjavik are ok, there is a bigger bus stop within a 15 minutes walk from the house.
Gunnar was accommodating while we were corresponding. However, when we weren't able to get to Akureyri because of the bad weather, he was rather difficult to contact and did not respond to our calls or texts. We regret not being able to stay at his beautiful house.
Gunnar's house in Akureyri was very lovely and had wonderful views. It was comfortable, spotlessly clean and I really enjoyed my stay here. Gunnar was also a very responsive host, and he responded to all my queries very quickly.
The only thing which was disappointing was that the hot tub was not working on the night we were there. If it had been working, I think it would have been amazing to enjoy the views of Akureyri from the hot tub.
It was so good to meet Gunnar at the BSI first day we arrive in Reykjavik. He was so kind to give us all kinds of travel information, we had no worries at all, even as our first time to visit Nordic nations. The villa was very well equipped, only a minor problem with the oven timer. It's a shame to know from Gunnar that someone took the hair dryer at his villa - it's just essential in such a cold winter.
Gunnar has everything you need to tour around in Iceland - an extravagant villa, a monster 4WD. Only one thing - you need to talk a lot with him face to face, as he was not very keen to reply your every inquiry in text messages. We had no problem talking to him, but some misunderstandings came up on our text-message conversations.
Anyway, my thumbs up to Gunnar.
