I am a Los Angeles-based artist. I live in Echo Park with my husband Michael (composer) and three teenage children.
Monique's bungalow is great ! It is very cosy, comfortable and very well located. There are loads of brochures and magazines about Los Angeles in the bungalow if you need inspiration as to where you wanna go. Although it can be a little noisy in the morning because the road is very close, the area felt very safe and the neighborhood is really nice. I definitely recommend Monique's place to anyone thinking of staying in LA !
perfect little spot in echo park for our stay in LA! I wanted to be around the echo park/silverlake/los feliz area for our trip and this was a great place to stay to see everything. The place itself is adorable and had everything we needed (even an iron for a last minute wrinkle fix!)
Monique is an excellent host and was flexible with our arrival time as we were running late from the airport for our afternoon check-in.
Would definitely recommend & go back to stay again!
On finding the Bungalow, Monique greeted us with a big smile and showed us around (even though it was a pretty late arrival). The Bungalow was bright, clean and had plenty of storage space for our belongings. It was nice to have the option of a coffee out in the yard in the mornings or evenings. Wifi was available and also a dock for music. The bed was very comfortable and huge.
The location was great, only 10 minute walk to Echo Park which is beautiful and worth a walk around. Many coffee shops etc. also only a short walk away and Silver Lake a short drive.
I would definitely recommend Monique's Bungalow to anyone.
Our 4-day stay at Monique’s little bungalow in early March of 2014 was quite a nice experience over all. Everything necessary for a clean and comfortable stay was provided, including a thoughtfully stocked kitchen pantry. It was also quite nice to have Monique’s hand-written list with map of places to eat at and visit in the neighbourhood.
A couple of factors however did come in the way from making the experience excellent. The parking was a bit of a bother every evening on return. Not easy to find available street parking once residents around are home. And the noise level. Since the bedroom window faces the fairly busy Echo Park Avenue it tends to get a bit noisy while trying to sleep. Aside from these two things, this is a nice and conveniently located bungalow to stay for a pleasure/sight-seeing type visit to LA.
I loved staying for 4 weeks in Monique's cute bungalow in Echo Park! If you're looking for a place where you can get around the neighborhood without a car, this is it. I loved that I could walk to tons of good places to eat, a grocery store, a Friday farmer's market, a local foods shop, a beautiful park, and coffee shops with free Wi-Fi. It was convenient to take the bus to go to other neighborhoods, too.
The bungalow is very cute and cozy, with plenty of storage space in the closet, enough hangers, and just what you need to cook in the little kitchen. Monique was easy to communicate with and it was a pleasure to stay here.
A VERY cute bungalow indeed. We had a nice time, thanks Monique in being prompt and being a welcoming host. And i have never tasted beer with coffee in it before ;)
Monique's place was fantastic. The bungalow was clean and comfortable and the location couldn't be better. It might be the most walkable area of LA--bars, groceries, restaurants and a weekly farmers market, all within a 5min walk.
We had a wonderful time staying at Monique's bungalow in Echo Park. The location is absolutely ideal, and the space itself is clean, bright and cozy.
We were unable to meet Monique, but she facilitated everything brilliantly, making our stay in Los Angeles very enjoyable. Highly recommended!
We stayed at the bungalow for 12 days. It was a good location for us as our son and grandson live within a half mile. Monique was very responsive to our needs and we would highly recommend this place. The location is within two blocks of Sunset Blvd. which has buses running every few minutes to downtown LA which is only 15 minutes by bus and also about a 15 minute bus ride to the Vermont & Sunset Subway station.
I can highly recommend Monique's cute Echo park bungalow. The area of Echo park is definitely my favorite in LA and it is so convenient, close to Sunset boulevard with so much public transport. The actual bungalow is cosy yet has plenty of room and a great vibe. I never got to meet Monique in person as we were running late from the airport bit she was very helpful via phone and text and was helpful for food and other local recommendations. Would definitely stay at the bungalow again!
Monique and husband are great guests, my place was left clean and organized. I hope they come back to NYC soon and I can host them again. Thank you Monique!
