I am so sorry that you had that experience. There is no excuse for the cookware not having been brought back up after we washed it, that was completely our mistake! Although I do hope you know you can always ask us downstairs for anything you need. I am puzzled about your "cat smell" issue, simply because we have not had a cat in the house in nearly a year, and with turning over that apartment several times a week for airbnb guests, we have literally cleaned the space hundreds of times since a cat lived there. Perhaps a guest just before you snuck their cat in and we didn't know it? I have no idea how you experienced a cat smell, but nonetheless, I am so, so sorry for the trouble this caused you. I hope in the future you know you can always reach out to your host if you feel something is not right. I think I speak for (nearly) all airbnb hosts when I say we really, only want our guests to have a good experience.
Conrad, I am so terribly sorry that you had a bad experience. I actually am not static in any city, being that my work typically takes me to Europe, New Mexico, Florida, and New York, as well as Seattle. I am so sorry that I didn't get to meet you and make sure you had a comfortable stay. Ryan has been a long trusted friend for years, and as a house manager this is the first that I am hearing of this sort of behavior. I apologize enormously for your bad experience, especially that you found your food missing! As you know, we ask all guests to label their food in the fridge, and we haven't had food go missing before. Everyone seems to be pretty great about the honor system. I spoke with Ryan about this and he is also very sorry for your bad experience, and only wishes you had told him what was going on so he could have helped you. If I had been there myself when you stayed with us, I'd only wish for the same thing. I wish you had contacted me. I really strive to make sure my guests have a great experience at an affordable price. Please accept my heartfelt apology. I only wish Ryan and I had been given the chance to help you out while you were still with us. I hope i the future you know you can always go to your hosts with your requests or issues, and in my experience, we are always happy to resolve them and make your stay a positive one. Oh, and the ceiling? I used to have an art installation of Styrofoam balls in the ceiling (I'm an artist, it's my house, so I just went for it a few years ago) but I took the installation down after a couple of years. Maybe the space was too creative, but that is the explanation. Again, I wish you would have inquired or mentioned it! I hope your stays in the future with airbnb are really great. And don't be afraid to reach out to your host!
