Hi everyone! I'm an expat from France/UK who's been living in Hong Kong for 8 years. I love to travel and, like many of us, meeting people different stories to tell. The big theme for my travelling over the past few years has been surfing.
We did not get to meet Edouard in person, but he was really good about staying in touch, making sure we were able to get into the flat and making sure we had everything we needed while we were there. The place was perfectly clean and very comfortable. The location was great - easy and quick to get to central, and also plenty of interesting shops and restaurants just within a few blocks of the flat. Would definitely stay here again if we have another opportunity to travel to Hong Kong!
Edouard's apartment was (email hidden) to stay. The apartment is big and comfortable in a very convenient location, with a lot of good restaurants and places to enjoy time. The Kennedy town area is quiet and not so crowd, and only a few minutes by bus or taxi from HK central area.
Edouard has been a very pleasant host and he always made his best to make us feeling like at home!
We would for sure go back to his apartment for a next trip in Hong Kong.
We stayed at Ed's place for 3 nights in October 2013. A very nice flat, huge by Hong Kong standards, a lot of light & space, and all necessary essentials in place. Don't worry about the location, although it seems to be a bit far from the centre, but in fact the distance is not long, and the transport in Hong Kong is world-class. There is a taxi stand nearby, and there are plenty of buses, It takes roughly 5 minutes by taxi or 15 minutes by bus to get to Central. There are a few nice cafes/restaurants in the vicinity. It felt great experiencing HK as a kind of a local. Ed coulnd't meet us in person, but he was easily available on the phone and reacted promptly to whatever Qs we had, Thanks, Ed!
The apartment was just the thing we were looking for - a home from home. It's furnished with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay and Eduard had made sure the place was spotless. The location itself is ideal; Kennedy town is a great area with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants to choose from. If you don't find exactly what you are looking for, SoHo and central are only a hop, skip and jump away.
We couldn't have asked (email hidden). Edouard gave us clear instructions, provided us with towels and even let us tuck into some bottles of wine and eat some of the delicious Brownie in the fridge!
We would certainly choose to stay here again!
Edouard's apartment was exactly what we were looking for: a spacious and homey place to spend our Xmas Holidays. Big for HK standards, and really bright, for any standard.
We loved the open kitchen and the big, tall table. Around it, we had yummy breakfasts (with freshly baked goods from the bakery around the corner, open every day), home cooked meals and late night card games, when we didn't feel like going out.
Don't get scared away by the fact that is not in a more central location. Kennedy Town is, in fact, an up and coming neighbourhood, with some interesting restaurants being opened in the same block as the apartment, and a nice "real Hong Kong" feeling all around. Apparently rough, but really safe and organised.
Everything is just around the corner: the bakery, a super efficient laundry shop, a low cost wine shop (low for HK standards) cheap foot massages., convenience stores open 24/7 and big supermarkets....
When you want to go to Central, or anywhere else, transportation could not be more convenient. There is a taxi station just outside the door (we could find one even on NY's Eve...something not to be taken for granted in other parts of town) and there are buses, trams, and minibuses every minute.
Coming back is also a no-brainer, since every second bus seems to finish its ride in Kennedy Town.
Apparently 2013 Xmas was one of the coldest ever in Hong Kong. Luckily the apartment had an electric heater. Very useful.
Had the weather been warmer, we would have enjoyed the nice common roof terrace. Next time...
Edouard extensive collections of movies and CDs was a plus.
Edouard made us feel at home from the first minute, and it was easy to be in touch with him while he was away. (although we didn't need to disturb him, because everything had been nicely arranged. Including the cleaning lady, during our stay)
I am sure some guests, sooner or later, will be tempted to change the lock and keep the apartment, because it's so awesome!
Rossana & her gang from Italy
Ed was an excellent guest as he was clean, had excellent communication throughout his stay. Would definitely recommend him as a guest.
Edouard was a wonderful guest. I found the place clean and tidy it and communication was easy and timely. I would definitely rent out my place to him again!
How lucky I am to have met Edouard and Kayan. They were visiting NY and come from Hong Kong. They loved NY city and I hoped that they loved Montauk just as much. A beautiful couple who were extremely respectful of my house and the surroundings. They left the room in absolutely perfect condition. I hope that some day they will return to Montauk.
