Robin's apartment was absolutely perfect for our stay in Russell. It had beautiful views for sunset and sunrise and was a 3 - 5 min drive from the main centre of Russell. Robin was a very warm and welcoming host - we'd love to come back and visit some day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Robin and Rick's place of paradise. The apartment contained everything you'd need for a visit to Russell. Robin made us feel welcome and we loved sitting on the deck with the sun setting and watching weka's pass by. Thanks a lot for having us!
Great apartment in a great little town. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Robin is a very caring and kind host and has a brilliant apartment. The night we arrived at her place in Russell we found that no shops or restaurants were open that late. Robin was gracious enough to offer us eggs, bread, fruit and a few snacks so we wouldn't have to sleep hungry. Absolutely fantastic! During the rest of out visit she was available whenever we needed her but left us to our selves to explore beautiful bay of islands. Thank you for being a great host. Our only regret was that we didn't get to write in the visitor book as we left in a hurry. We hope other do :)
we had a great stay at robin's place. lovely apartment with a loft bed and everything you need. robin rven provided a booklet with everything you need to know about russell (activities etc). would absolutely recommend to stay here!
Robin and Rick made our stay very easy . First off we arrived a day late . We underestimated driving times in NZ . Not only did Robin agree to extend our stay another day but refused to take money for the day we missed .
The space is very much like their boat: compact , comfortable and utilitarian . The tiling in the bath is beautiful particularly the shower floor with embedded round river rock. The deck is shaded by trees and the music of the birds and wind through them is peaceful .
When you book be certain to see if they will be sailing the" Phantom". You will be regaled with great seafaring stories , NZ history , and the best lunch in Russell .

Really enjoyed our Stay - the flat is very comfortable and well equipped - we had a great day sailing on the Phantom and Robyn and Rick where terrific hosts - Russell is a great place and we look forward to coming back some day - thank you
RRR: Robin, Rick in Russell.
We enjoyed your "very quiet place".
A truly "Russell Good Vibe" with very easy going people (that is You as our hosts).
No key to the Apt, no problem in Russell for us. For the others, they will have to figure it out.
Wekas (not Kiwis) are now our friends. Two giant NZ Pigeons even befriended us in the yard. How cool is that.
We loved cooking fresh fish and trying all kinds of smoked varieties from a close neighbour vendor. That too is quite cool.
And after a couple of days, we felt part of your community.
Of course, the Phantom Sail Experience is Awesome. A somewhat fusion between a massage and a roller coaster. How to explain?

Robin and Rick greeted us warmly on arrival and we felt instantly at home. The Plum Tree has a special charm and every convenience for an enjoyable stay. The apartment was very clean and just as pictured. Our only regret is that we were very busy and didn't manage to spend more time there! A great excuse to return and to take the opportunity to go sailing on Phantom. Thanks for your hospitality Robin and Rick and we will certainly be recommending The Plum Tree to any of our guests in The Garden Room who are venturing your way.
Robin and Rick met us upon arrival and settled us in to their cute little ground floor apartment. Everything is there that you would need to cook any meal. In fact, we purchased some "wet fish" as Rick called them and broiled them in the gas stove. We also enjoyed a day on their boat in the bay, slowly meandering out to one of the islands to swim and have a lovely lunch. That is their livelihood and guests receive about a 10% discount. The space is fine for two people. There is a bit of a musty smell that might be helped with more ventilation. Opening the windows was a problem since there are no screens which lets mosquitoes in. We appreciated being able to use the washer but were asked not to use the dryer. The clothes line would have been fine if the weather had not been overcast and rainy. Needless to say, our clothes did not dry very well hanging them inside. The neighborhood is very quiet and we saw several wiki birds running around the yard - very cool. We were not given a key to the apartment, but would have felt better to be able to lock it since there is no one there during the day when everyone is out on the boat.
Robin was a great guest, very enjoyable and appreciative, totally reliable and considerate. Along with being excellent company. A gem.
Robin was very interesting, I really enjoyed a fascinating discussion with her and my roommate about what makes us tick!
Robin was a lovely person and a very interesting guest. When 2 ladies come together from a similar/same generation what results is a lot of great conversation - and so it was! In addition Robin was very considerate and tidy. I highly recommend Robin as a guest and would be happy to have her come again anytime!
Robin was a great guest to have stay, very friendly!
