Hi Hugo and I are a retired professional couple who love to travel, read, cook and spend time on our little boat on the estuary.
We love our small grandchildren and love meeting people.
Exceptional place. Sue and Hugo can't do enough for you. Sue makes homemade honey and yoghurt which is amazing. We will stay here again and have told all our friends to stay when they are in the Nelson area. Top knotch.
Our stay was excellent and wonderful in every respect. The guest house feels like a home. The picture windows provide ever changing views of the Waimea estuary's tides and adjoining soft rolling hills. Hugo and Sue have that rare sense of balance of being warm and inviting hosts while being respectful of their guests' desire to be alone to enjoy the quiet beauty of their property and its surroundings. We left with a profound sense of gratitude and aloha for a wonderful experience. Mahalo to Sue & Hugo.

Absolutely loved staying at Sue and Hugo's guest house. It was beautiful, comfortable, and had quite a lovely view. Sue and Hugo were wonderful hosts, and we wish we could have spent more time with them. They were both extremely helpful, knowledgable, and such fun to chat with. Would love to stay with them again in the future. :)
Thank you for a great relaxing stay. Very quiet and peaceful area. Fantastic views of Nelson. Mapua and vineyards very close. Wireless internet was very handy. Will be returning when next in Nelson
What a gorgeous place - so lovely to wake up with the stunning view over the estuary. Sue and Hugo were lovely hosts and provided a number of helpful tips for the area. Just wish we could have stayed longer!!
This place was a delight. Sue and Hugo were wonderful hosts. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and love the area. We would love to visit again for a longer stay. This was our first airbnb and what a gem!
This was a great stay in the countryside. The home and guesthouse are architectural gems, and the views of the landscape are beautiful! It made for a great location to do day hikes and kayaking in Abel Tasman.
The hosts were so gracious and welcoming! The homemade breakfast was so delicious, that we wish we could have stayed longer!
My wife and I had a lovely stay at Sue and Hugo's guest house. The building itself is beautiful inside and out and felt like a home from home. Set in a rural location with great views, it was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. It's an excellent gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park.
There's a small but excellently equipped kitchen complete with Sue's homemade muesli and yoghurt! We also made use of the BBQ on a sunny evening.
The only bad thing was that we wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks to Sue and Hugo for being so friendly and welcoming.
This was a wonderful place to stay! It's very private, lot of space and light, beautifully decorated with original art works and great views too. Also the location is excellent; we went to Marlborough Sounds, Nelson and Abel Tasman from here, but you could also visit Golden Bay. Sue & Hugo were really great hosts too. We hope to be back some day!
A NEW ZEALAND HIGHLIGHT ! My wife and I stayed three nights in Sue and Hugo's wonderful modern guest house. Sue and Hugo are the most welcoming hospitable people. The house boasts beautiful views, total privacy, comfort and serenity. Sue's home made yogurt and muesli was a big hit. You'll want to stay AT LEAST three nights.
Sue and Hugo were terrific! They are very nice, friendly and open to experience. They left the studio in wonderful shape and we would welcome them back anytime!
I really enjoyed Sue and her husband's stay here. They were very clean and respectful of my home and I enjoyed the conversations we had. I would definitely recommend hosting them. They are a delightful couple.
Great friendly couple. Would make delightful guests wherever they visit. :o)
