The host canceled my reservation the day before arrival.
I had all planned months before, and just hours before arriving not even a day she told me that she already rented 2 out of the 3 rooms which I had paid months in advance. I traveled all the way from Mexico City and arrived at Chicago with nowhere to go because we aere 7 guys and she left os on the street. So really dont even bother asking her anything. Thank God Airbnb got something to me the next day but really dont even waste your time with this host.
It was my first experience with Airbnb. Nice place, very friendly host. I will definitely use your service again.
This is a nice, comfortable place, and the host is very nice but you must be a cat lover. The smell of litter boxes is awful, and the 2 cats' howling in maddening.
Perfect! that's all I can say..Julie is a sweet heart ...very comfortable place..she also accommodated an extra person with no additional costs..not to mention the place is close to downtown and all the other tourists spots! would recommend it to everyone :)!
Fantastic location to visit Chicago downtown. Julie has been a good host.
Julie's apartment is inhumane, filthy, and the single twin bed that all three of us were expect to sleep on was saturated in cat urine. My parents and I were never so horrified to stay at a supposed "bed and breakfast." We left as soon as the sun was up.
Julie as a host was unresponsive, unreliable, disorganized, abnormally incoherent, and I would not recommend booking with her.
The night we were due to check in, me and my parents could not reach Julie by phone and the bellhop could not reach her by knocking on the door. We spent forty minutes at 1:00am in the lobby wondering what to do and we thought we had been scammed.
After leaving the lobby to return to the train station to sleep on a bench we received a call from Julie, who had apparently been in her apartment the entire time. She was incoherent on the phone and incoherent in person.
Julie was completely surprised to see there were three of us, despite the reservation having been made specifically for three.
She led us up to a filthy apartment with loud cats and told us the only room she had available contained one twin bed. She told us to "take it or leave it." Julie gave us a few blankets and then disappeared into her bedroom and communicated only via text messages, which we stopped responding to. We slept on the floor.
The bathroom hadn't been cleaned in several months. The small bedroom we were confined to reeked of cat urine and was an absolute nightmare to stay in, since the two cats spent the rest of the night crying constantly at our door while trying to claw their way back in. The bed sheets and blankets were saturated in cat urine and we slept on the floor with faces buried in our luggage trying to escape the stench.
We stayed only because it was better than sleeping in the train station, which, at 3am and still awake, we were seriously considering doing.
If you wish to experience an enjoyable stay in Chicago, stay elsewhere. If anyone from Air BandB is reading, please consider conducting an investigation.
Not great on organisation or luxury but for the price and location a great stay.
I appreciate freedom and privacy, Julie, a most gracious hostess, afforded me, and my child Paul, both. It, the apartment, is in a great neighborhood, safe, child friendly, none of the less desirable nuisances one can expect in the Loop (or any urban downtown); wildly private in a terribly desirable downtown location with two charming companions, cats, whom made fast friends with my child.
