We felt very welcome. The neighbourhood was pleasant. We enjoyed the view of the ocean from the bedroom.
It was a great stay at Carlton Seamill in a gorgeous and comfortable room right by the sea. Avril did everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible and gave me an update on politics and economics in Scotland along with a delicious breakfast!
Thankyou Avril for having me over.
We stayed one night here and found Avril to be a friendly and welcoming host. As Avril had no other guests that day she kindly gave us a choice of 3 rooms. The room we chose was large and had a wonderful view of the sea and the Isle of Aaron from the huge windows. Avril is a great conversationalist who also had good advice on things to see and do in the area and where to eat.
The property description portrays the house, perhaps as it used to be, rather than as it is now. The house is well over 100 years old but is showing its age and, in some areas, has become a little shabby. However, the amenities are clean and work fine, especially the new shower. Overall, the property is perhaps a little overpriced for what it is, but we enjoyed our stay and Avril's company. To spend a night here is an interesting experience and the breakfast Avril provides is both plentiful and very nicely presented.
We had a lovely time in the b&b by the sea! Our hostess was quite friendly and helpful. She advised us on things to do and have us great directions too! We had lively conversation around the breakfast table and then started off on our merry way.
My daughter and I had a lovely stay with Avril. We're both big fans of vintage styling, and Avril's Victorian home is the real thing! A friendly and attentive host; comfortable beds; a good breakfast, beautiful sea views. If you're expecting all mod cons - you won't find them here, but you will enjoy all the charm of yesteryear. We were only here for a short stay this time, but I'm going to return with my husband to visit some of the islands, and we definitely be staying at Carlton Seamill.
The host Avril was nice and helpful. And the location is amazing. But honestly the room and house were kinda horrible. The house smelled bad, the carpet was shocking and the room/bed were not comfortable. We paid EUR 90 and it did not come close to being worth it.
The breakfast was pretty bad. I had a long stray silver hair mixed in with my egg...I stopped eating after that.
There are some friendly pubs only a short walk away and the nearby beach is worth a stroll. If I was to go back to West Kilbride I wouldn't stay here again.
Avril was extremely helpful with suggestions even before we arrived. A beautiful room overlooking the water. Her home is a B&B easy to find and walking distance to a couple of good eating options. Only stayed a night. Choices for a cooked breakfast offered by Avril. Very friendly and accommodating host.
Had a very lovely stay. Great view from the room. Enjoyed a fabulous sun set and an amazing home-cooked breakfast. :) Just perfect!
Avril is fantastic and up for a chat about anything. The view is fantastic from the main bedroom with a short walk to the beach and the occasional seal on the rocks. Nearby towns are easily accessible and have some great places to visit.
Avril will give you a friendly welcome, with lots of helpful information about the lovely area around Carlton, Seamill. For those looking for something different from the usual modern Hotel chains, Carlton is the place to be!
Full of character, lovely antique furniture and with wonderful sea views across to the Island of Arran from the Double bedrooms and garden, Avril's home is a unique place to stay.
