Overall, we had a nice stay at this flat. The location is very central and close to Tube, Regents Park and the great vibe of Camden Town.
However, the flat is actually NOT as it appears in the photos. Many of the amenities are not there...including one of the sofas shown in the photo. No rugs or throw pillows, no mattress pads or even a broom to sweep the floors. Truly the only basics and it appears they haven't taken the time out from renting to keep the place in good shape (i.e. paint the walls etc) so the furniture was old, tired and some of it was broken/unsafe. The unit wasn't clean when we paid for early check in (fee was refunded) and the aircon wasn't working (which was fixed quickly).
The management was helpful and tried to rectify some of the issues, but it was still disappointing. With that said, if they take the time to clean and update and put in a coffee maker, we would stay there again.
This place was HUGE! It was in a wonderful location and close to the tube. The wi-fi was excellent. The neighborhood had good food and shops. We enjoyed watching the World Cup on the tv. The place was very clean.
This apartment was rented by City Apartments not a private owner. I had to go a few miles north on the tube to get keys and check in. It was more professional than the typical owner meet up. The apartment itself is located right on Old Compton in Soho. This is one of the busiest streets in Soho for pubs, theaters, restaurants etc. The apartment is up two stories of narrow stairs without an elevator which might be a consideration for some. The unit was fairly modern and had recently been renovated. This unit does not have air conditioning (a small room sized unit would be perfect) so you need windows open on a hot summer night. The problem here is the street below is filled with pub goers, groups partying and theater goers until 2-3 AM in the morning. If that's your gig then great. We had issues with the shower drain, internet speeds (poor 3G mobile router) and the TV (bummer because Wimbledon and World Cup were on). We reported the drain issue but it was not resolved during our stay. The kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were otherwise nice, clean, functional and modern. We used the refrigerator and kitchen amenities extensively. For my next visit I would definitely stay in Soho but probably seek a more quiet street without all the early AM nightlife happening right below my accommodation. This was however a fabulous location with proximity to two tube stations, Regent Street (shopping), Covent Gardens, really great restaurants, pubs and bars.
We rented this apartment so we could attend our daughter's graduation art (email hidden). Martin's. We could literally see the school from our window. It is a great view and perfect location for us. The room was very clean, modern and just as it looks in the photos. Bed was comfortable and what I like was that while it was one of those modern sealed window towers, those grey panels next to the windows in the photos are casement windows can open and so we had fresh air, not a/c which was really nice. Folks handling the key pickup were helpful with the usual wifi questions (and the Wi-Fi worked great too, once I figured it out). Excellent value - having that kitchen saves on breakfast and happy hour.
The apartment was clean and roomy. It was easily accessible to metro, buses and trains to all destinations. Regent's park was a short walk away. Close to restaurants and grocery stores. It is in a basement. The hosts/ the company was right next door, so they were easy to reach for information.
Stayed two nights in the apartment in Notting Hill. We had a great time! Great location and very cosy apartment! Would definitely stay in the apartment again!!! Thanks, guys! Thalin
The key pick up was in an inconvenient location relative to the flat and they charged a $70 delivery fee to have someone run it out and meet me at the flat.
Nice neighbourhood, great apartment! Unfortunately the internet was very unreliable. But still loved it and would definitely stay there again.
Wanted a central location in work as I was down in London for meetings & was tired of hotels. Apartment was well located & easy to access, clean & well furnished. Had a few issues with ventilation as flat was very warm with windows closed as no AC, when I opened the windows to have some ventilation my night was punctuated with sirens & road noise. I probably would come back to the flat again but wait for cooler time of year.
