I work as a studio jeweler in my home in New Orleans. I love collecting and trading my work for art. I try to surround myself with things that are handmade, creative and beautiful.

Natalie's home was clean and beautiful with great art on the walls. We had an early flight in and Natalie was flexible and allowed us drop off our luggage before the check in time which was really great.
Our cab driver from the airport wasn't very familiar with the area and ended up taking a route that went through some rougher parts of the city. When he dropped us off he tried to tell us we would be unsafe staying there. It was an unsettling way to start the trip and luckily he turned out be wrong. To me, the Bywater is like any other artist-populated city neighborhood. Just use common sense and be aware of your surroundings at night. We didn't have any bad experiences and were able to take advantage of the great food and live music close by. The only drawback to the location is that it's difficult to get a cab from the house. We ended up walking to French Quarter in the mornings which is a pretty walk through lots of neighborhoods. It's about 2 miles, so renting bikes would have also been a good idea. We had no issues getting cabs back at night.
The apartment is very large, actually bigger than it looks in the pictures. It's also walking distance from a lot of great spots in the Bywater area. Natalie was great and left some basics in the refrigerator as well as some recommendations for what to do in the area.
Natalie's place was great. I am a big fan of Bywater and I felt right at home in her apartment. Natalie was very accomodating and the communication was great. The space itself was spacious, eclectic and cozy. Great places to eat and drink are easy to walk to. Would gladly stay there again.
Natalie was a gracious host and recommended the BEST places to be, eat, and drink in NOLA! She even went as far as helping research photographers for me before we came down (We got married on our trip)! Her studio was very well decorated and cozy. The Bywater area is within walking distance of everything, however if you plan on exploring all of NOLA, rent a bike. When we return to NOLA, we will definitely visit Natalie and her studio again.
Natalie's house was perfect! It's beautiful and in an awesome neighborhood. It is quite a bit off from the French quarter but that's kind of what we were looking for. And with bikes we rented for the whole week it was the easiest way to get around. Although I didn't get to meet Natalie, her boyfriend was the one who turned the keys over and was very kind and helpful. Natalie asked to use her studio a few times, but since we were out during the day the entire time this wasn't really a problem at all. Overall, a perfect place for the kind of trip we wanted in New Orleans.
Great base for exploring the east side of the Quarter as well as Bywater. A reasonable walk (or easy bike ride) to Frenchmen, good restaurants nearby, and very nicely-kept house. Would definitely recommend.
Natalie's space is beautiful -- the pictures represent it well, and the ceilings are even higher than they appear in the photos, making for an airy and bright space. The kitchen is very functional and was a great spot for breakfast each morning.
We had an issue with the air-conditioning in the bedroom not working the first night, but Natalie got back to us the next morning and was able to fix it that evening. Unfortunately, it kicked out again the next night, but the fan she provided us with and the A/C in the next room were enough to keep us cool, and we didn't feel that it needed to be tended to that night. Granted, I believe we stayed at her place during the first really warm days of the year, and I'm sure she is having it repaired more permanently. Natalie was responsive and helpful throughout the process, as was her boyfriend.
The neighborhood, while not for everyone (check out the area online before booking to ensure it's right for you), ended up being an excellent fit for us. We enjoyed many of the restaurants that Natalie suggested and loved being able to walk everywhere. If you are an especially light sleeper, you may find some street noise bothersome, and if you are expecting more of a pristine neighborhood, you may prefer a different area -- but by the end of our trip, we were ready to move in.
Thank you, Natalie, for a lovely vacation!
Loved staying at the spacious Bywater apt. It was indeed artful. Enjoyed the various art pieces and bright colors. Natalie was a terrific host. She was very accommodating.
Bywater is a trendy, cool neighborhood. It's a ways, but we even walked to the French Quarter from there. Don't miss the new Crescent Park along the River.

Natalie was a gracious, informative & cool host. Communication was easy & open. She stopped by on our first night to be sure that we were settled in and to give me the absolute best directions to a parade. I felt very at home and the pictures online are most certainly accurate = the home is just as beautiful, clean and spacious as it looks. The extras in the fridge were truly appreciated! The location is so very convenient to everywhere you want to go. The Bywater neighborhood is eclectic and a safe walk though the neighborhood delivers authentic New Orleans charm. The neighbors are very quiet, considerate and great people to talk to. This listing is a true gem that I am thankful was available for my visit. This is the place you are looking for when you want to travel to New Orleans. I miss it already!
Natalie is always independent, clean, and easy to host! She is terrific.
Natalie is low-maintenance, pleasant, and very neat. She was a wonderful guest; you can definitely feel comfortable renting to her anywhere.
I have been renting from Natalie for close to a year now. Natalie has been consistently professional, fair and attentive as a landlord. Natalie always addresses any needs that I have as a renter promptly, keeping my home a comfortable and safe place to reside. She is considerate of me as a renter and is respectful as a neighbor when she is working in her space during the week, often checking in to make sure she is never making too much noise working, which she never is.Natalie and I have become great friends over the past year. We have hosted parties together and often attend events in the community. Natalie is gracious to share her unique home in the Bywater with myself and my family. I enjoy renting from her, as I find her work as an artist and her personality fun and inspiring. Additionally, Natalie has introduced me to people and places in the area that have been helpful to me as a new resident in the area. I consider myself very lucky to have found such an enjoyable living space and a new friend. I recommend Natalie and her space to those of you looking for a charming place to stay while you visit New Orleans. I am sure that you will also consider yourself lucky and will want to return again.
