Although I am Belgian, I have now moved to Canada and have lived here for the past 12 years. Having traveled a lot of Europe at an early age, I definitely caught the bug and continue to venture in new unknown places.
My travels have brought me to Scandinavia, South Africa, Cuba, Thailand, Laos, and many more countries and what I've learned is that the best experiences always occur with and/or with the help of people who live and know the area well.
My future travel plans will bring me to Iceland, Girona for some serious cycling, and I hope to either attend the Milan or Copenhagen design week.
I do like various styles of music and books. Depending on my mood, I will be listening to jazz, funk, electronica, blues, indie and classical. I rarely read fiction but I did just finish the Millenium trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now for a total switch of scenery, I am reading one of Stephen Hawking's books. As for food, I am opened to everything but french food is my favourite and I am great at making crepes.
I can't live without great coffee and food, Belgian beer (it's in my blood), amazing friends, girlfriend and experiences, design and architecture (although that can be rather broad), and my bike !:)
I find unique things that one can appreciate in every city I visit.
I have traveled many times abroad by staying with friends or acquaintances. I believe I am a quiet and respectful guest but I am always ready to meet and get to know other people.
I can't wait to travel and meet new people with airbnb.
