John was very welcoming, warm and friendly and very helpful. It does what it says on the tin - a low cost room in London. Recommended.
virtually as described. the accommodation was very cheap for the area. it was clean and fulfilled my needs. could have done with a tv in room as the lounge is not accessible to guests. kitchen is fine and as described. ideal for breakfast and making a light lunch.
stairs are slightly noisy due to bare floorboards, but only a minor irritation and this is more down to guests leaving late at night than anything the owner can do. only a 15 minute walk to centre of canary wharf.
staff were friendly and helpful. i would definatley use again, and already have plans for next year.
The lication is good & with good connections to London city. Having the use of kitchen is a great bonus especially on longer stays. Can come & go as you please and people are nice.
I never met john, and only interacted with Georgina briefly, but the room was conveniently located an inexpensive, which is exactly what I needed. Wish I had a chance to visit their establishment below! It looked lovely.
Great convenient location just what I needed about 15mins from XL,lovely hostes will stay again many thanks.
Good experience overall. Very good value. The room was clean and sunny. Can get a little noisy so if this bothers you, then this is not the place for you.

John was a great host, very pleasant to talk to. The room was basic, but that's what we paid for and it suited out needs. If your looking for a place to stay in London on a budget, then look no further! More than likely stay again with John when I'm next down in London.
Everything was set and spot on. No issues. Would stay again. The guests were satisfied. Great location.
The rooms are exactly what you would expect, and a very good bargain. They are up two flights of narrow stairs over the pub. I found them clean, with a lot of light. There is an electric kettle with coffee and tea. Bathroom and a separate toilet are located one flight down, together with a full kitchen. Bathroom and toilet, although perfectly usable, may franly use some renovation. The owner is friendly and communication with him was easy and quick. The neighborhood is nice, and the place is just a few minutes walk from the All Saints and Poplar stations of the DLR. Walking to Canary Wharf takes about ten minutes.
I would definitely recomend the Hope&Anchor if you are looking for a cheap, friendly, and rather basic accomodation.
