Some apartments can be functional and convenient but sterile. Daniele's apartment is functional, convenient and is not sterile. It has a homely feel. It is spotless. It is perfect for a couple. An absolute pleasure to return to after a day of sightseeing. The street is so quiet you can have a sound sleep.Public transport is less than ten minutes away. The metro is a leisurely 20 mins away. Both buses and metro are frequent. Easy to find a carpark and close to the circular road that surrounds Rome to drive to other areas. Perfect host and perfect place. All amenities are close by including a daily market.
nice and cosy apartment, you realy feel at home there. Daniele s very nice, charming and helpful. It takes a while to get there by public transport but you get a quiet place to relax from crowded Rome. Recommended.
Daniele and Luca were perfect hosts. They even picked us up from the rail station at 11pm after our flight was delayed. The place really felt like a home from home. It was so quiet that we got a much better sleep than usual.
Luca, Daniele's friend, waited for us in the apartment for 30 minutes, we were so hungry when we arrived in Rome so we stopped by at nearby Pizza .. thank you Luca! The apartment is actually not far away from the city center, one bus away you reach termini in no time! The apartment is so clean, especially the bathroom, and the whole apartment is well equipt and nicely decorated. They also left books about Rome as well as map of street and public transportation .. no need to spend money on maps! Daniele is superb host .. I left my Balckberry (with all my contacts list on it .. whoa) and Ipod (my favorites songs were all there) in the apartment, and he sent them to my hotel in Amsterdam !! Thaaaankkk yoouuuu Daniele .. so in short, I will be back when I am in Rome .. I highly recomend Daniele and Luca's apartment .. or home for a better word!
This is a wonderful apartment, located in
the quiet area of Città Giardino close to Villa Ada. I stayed with my wife for a
month and we had a nice time. It is well connected to the railway station and
the city centre. There is also a lot of parking space for car, or handy public
transportation to all directions. Also,
piazza Sempione is nearly 5-10 minutes walk away. In the neighborhood you can
find a daily morning market with fruit, vegetables and clothing. At piazza Sempione
there is a well-stocked supermarket, fantastic bakeries/pizzerias, the post
office, a pharmacy and other shops. Buses are very frequent (approximately
20-30 min to the centro depending on traffic).
The apartment is fully equipped with a wide range of amenities
anyone could expect (e.g., washing machine, iron and board, hairdryer, TV,
kitchen, bathroom with shower, air conditioning).
The block of apartments is extremely quiet at night and very
secure. The area demands rispetto e silenzio, so if you are in a party mood, forget
it. Moreover, if you’re a tourist staying in Rome for a couple of days it’s
rather far from the centre, yet if you are coming for business (as I was) or
staying for an extended tourist period it’s the ideal place.
It is more than evident from the
decoration of the apartment and the collection of books, magazines and
artifacts, that Daniele and Luca are highly-educated, multicultural and stylish
people. Daniele was a nice host, ready to provide all the information needed.
The reservation was canceled 29 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
E' un appartamento stupendo! E' esattamente cosi come nelle foto!
Daniele's apartment is creatively furnished and decorated, clean, silent and convenient. Lovers of Audrey Hepburn will be delighted. I particularly appreciated the nice fragrance on the fresh towels. Daniele's friend Giusi welcomed us and gave us lots of tips about Rome and the neighborhood.
This is a fabulous apartment, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. You do really feel like you’re stepping into the home of a well-travelled friend who has a great sense of style
It has the full range of amenities you’d generally expect – TV, washing machine, iron and board, hairdryer etc. And the fully-equipped kitchen obviously belongs to someone who loves to entertain at home - you’ll find everything you could possibly need here. You’re also likely to find some tea/coffee/sugar, s’n’p, oil’n’vinegar or similar left behind by previous guests.
It is incredibly quiet at night and the excellent blinds mean you can shut out all the light and other distractions and have a nice, long indulgent sleep-in (or a cheeky little afternoon siesta, if you wish).
If you read (or are learning) Italian, then you could dip into the extensive home library, including books and magazines on art, music, travel etc. (If not, you can just admire the way they’ve been used to artfully decorate the apartment).
Nomentana Square is approx. 5-10 min walk away. Near the square there is a daily morning street market with stalls selling ripe and glistening fruit and veg, as well the kind of clothing you’ll often find in this kind of market including jocks, socks, cardigans and scarves etc. At Nomentana Square itself there is a well-stocked supermarket, bottle shop, bakery/pizzeria, post office, and a range of other shops and services you’d expect in a typical high street.
From Nomentana Square, you can catch the 60 bus to Piazza Venezia or the 60 L to Termini station. Buses are very frequent (I think the longest I had to wait might have been about 10 min or so). The bus trip is approx. 20-30 min, depending on the time of day and traffic. From there, you need to factor in additional time to get to your ultimate destination.
The apartment is in a gated complex consisting of three buildings. It feels very safe and secure and I had no hesitation walking home from the bus station to the apartment, even on my own very late at night.
If you’re only in Rome for two or three days and are wanting to ensure that you see as many of the tourist sights as possible in a very limited time-frame, then I’d probably suggest that you stay somewhere closer to the city center (and of course, you would end up paying significantly more for this convenience). That way you can make the most of every single minute you have available.
However, if you’re in Rome for more than a few days, if you enjoy slow travel and really getting to know a city and its people, then I’d encourage you to consider to consider staying at Daniele’s apartment. Daniele was an incredibly helpful and friendly host and was willing to share so much of his insider's knowledge with me.
He is exactly the kind of host I reckon we should be supporting at airbnb.
Daniele and his friend are very friendly. he left the room and the apartment in an immaculate condition :)
