I grew up in a very small town in Michigan, and went to college in Detroit. My first "real" job was in the hotel business, working at the front desk and eventually assisting in management of the property. While I was doing that, I was studying web software development, and when my hotel was sold, I started my career as a web developer. Now I own my own company doing contract web development and photography.

I purchased the Axtell house in 2009. Since moving in, I've restored the fireplaces, the porch swing, and turned the foyer into a library. Most of the restoration work was already finished. Now it just needs better insulation and a complete exterior paint strip-down and repainting, and some work on the 110 year old windows so more of them open again :)

In October 2011, while taking a break from preparing the house for its first weekend rental, I met Shelly. In May 2012, I asked her to marry me, and in January 2013, we were married.

Shelly is a St. Mary's Belle, and has her masters in social work. She runs a program teaching life skills to young parents for the Youth Service Bureau. She's heavily involved in local theatre, recently directing the Michiana Monologues after several years as one of the performers, and has recently been in Avenue Q, Steel Magnolias, Sister Mary Ignatious Explains it all to you, and several 10 minute plays in an 8x10 series.

We both work a lot, but travel when we can. There are photos around the house from our travels. We usually spend weekends in Michigan when the house is rented out - Shelly's mom has a lovely place in the woods that's pretty close to the lake.
