We are both retired from Pomona College, where Norm taught sculpture and ceramics for 40 years and Cricket directed the Museum of Art and taught art history and museum studies. Norm continues to make sculpture ((website hidden)), and Cricket still works on campus projects, mostly writing and editing. Until recently, we spent half of every year in the Fiji Islands, where we owned property for 23 years; now that that property has been sold, we're eager to visit other places. When traveling, we prefer to settle in one place and use it as a home base for exploratory day trips. We like having kitchen facilities but also seek out good restaurants. We enjoy a variety of environments--ocean, mountains, desert--and generally prefer to stay near, but not in, major urban areas, although there are exceptions to this. We both read a lot, enjoy movies, daily walking, and Cricket drags Norm to museums when she can.
