Hey, I'm Chelsea!
San Francisco, California, United States · Member since April 2012

Native San Franciscan. Freelance Graphic Designer. Live in a district called the Outer Richmond, out by Ocean Beach/Pacific Ocean. I love living out here. To live by the ocean is refreshing and inspiring. Plus, I have Golden Gate Park, Sutro Park, the Land's End trail and many museums nearby.

I've got a tabby cat, Jackson. He can be annoying, but, hey, he's a cat. He makes me laugh and smile.

5 things I can't live without: family (I know they're people, but, the family unit is a thing--ha ha); access to an open space to run, walk and take a deep breath of fresh air; gee, i don't know... my tweezers to tame my Italian eyebrows. I think that in all seriousness, I can live without most things, if I needed to.

Favorite travel destinations: Barcelona, Yellowstone National Park, Netherlands, Northern California.

Music: I love flamenco, salsa, zydeco, soul, blues, some jazz. I love to hear music from Africa and the Middle East.

To tell the truth, I don't travel often. I decided this year that I need to push myself out of my "comfort zone" and get out and experience life, in other places/countries. I like the idea of Arbnb because I would have the experience of living in someone else's home/apartment. It is one step closer to immersing myself in the culture, to experience coming home to an apartment complex, or a house, rather than a hotel is much more authentic. I hope to allow for others to experience my space as well, if they don't mind that a cat lives there.

I am very respectful of others' spaces and possessions. To allow another person into one's space, while you are not there, is a complete act of trust. It is generous, even if one is getting paid for use of their space, it is always a gamble. So, in return, I do my best to be respectful of their space, objects and their trust.

No life motto, yet. I'll wait to get a tombstone to think of something. Life is for the living!
