I am an artistic, extroverted person who loves traveling, meeting new people, and learning about new places and cultures. I am from the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN), but moved to NYC in June 2013, so am enjoying all that the city has to offer. I work in the nonprofit arts, so naturally like to connect with the arts scene wherever I travel.
I enjoy food from around the globe and cook often. Although I am a vegetarian (but eat seafood once in a while) and gluten-free, I find it quite easy to still enjoy all different types of cuisines.
Photography, music, and dancing are a few of my passions and I love having the chance to enjoy all three while traveling. An ideal trip for me is spending time exploring a new place with my camera and connecting with new people and places as I happen upon them. I enjoy relaxing and catching up on me-time, but also enjoy being active with others, whether it be dancing at a fun place with live music or taking a beautiful hike or swim.
I'm easy-going and low-maintenance when it comes to accommodations. My favorite times abroad have actually been those when I am most out of my element and everyday habits, including time I've spent in Ghana. I won't need a lot of attention, yet I love conversation and advice from locals. I have always found that my best experiences while traveling are those that I randomly happen upon when my plans are flexible.
