Professeure d'histoire de l'art et du cinéma et chercheur prof en biologie moléculaire, vivant avec deux adorables petits schtroumpfs
I was already in Brussels before Maud and Guillaume left for their vacation, so had the pleasure of meeting them and being shown around their apartment. What lovely people! And what a beautiful apartment! Let me count the ways...
It was so bright, airy and comfortable, that we loved every minute of staying there. The view out the back balcony is like casting one's eyes over a small forest, and the windows at the front give you such a wonderful view of the street that I frequently found myself sitting on the windowsill at sunset and enjoying the street life on one side and my family life on the other. We visited with a small child who of course loved the children's toys and general child-friendliness of the apartment. The apartment feels spacious but cosy, and public transport to just about everywhere was just up the street. Not one but two enormous parks are a short walk away, and we explored and played in them both (wish we had more time to explore them fully!) There are restaurants dotted about the area; the lively Saint Gilles is just up the hill; the excellent Bar du Matin is just across one of the parks; and the main station Gare du Midi is a quick tram ride away. (I also walked home from the centre late at night, which took about 30 mintues and was peaceful.)
If you are fortunate enough to be offered a chance to stay here, do take it! :)
