We had such a wonderful stay at the seaview penthouse. Lorenzo was a great host, who picked us up from the airport(free of charge) and showed us the area before taking us to the penthouse. He showed us the best restaurants, markets and beaches. We couldn't have asked for a better rental or host. Lorenzo and his wife even stocked the house with a few essential food items and welcome to malta bottle of wine. The apartment was just as advertised and more. It is centrally located but located in serene area. We will definitely be recommending. this to our friends.
The apartment is very nice with excellent sea view. its clean and tidy as well. The host is very nice, he explained everything we needed. There were some milk, hams, cereals and bread provided in additions. haha.. we love it. We enjoyed the stay a lot. The location is very convenient as it takes 20mins to get to the ferry to Gozo and Comino, and close to the Ghadira bay. We highly recommended the apartment to others.
We were three guys staying at Lorenzos apartment for a week. Lorenzo offerred to pick us up at the airport late friday evening. He had bought breakfast for us, so we didn't need to to go out at buy early the next morning. :)
The apartment has wireless internet. The apartment was clean and nice and what a view! I can only recommend Lorenzo. We contacted him a few times during the stay, and he replied quickly. The last day we had to be out by noon, but our plain was leaving ad 21:00 in the evening, Lorenzo offered us to stay in the upper apartment after we checked out.
You dont event have to clean the apartment, just leave the keys at noon. Lorenzo has my highest recommendations. When I visit Malta again, I know where I will stay :)
L'appartement correspond à l'annonce. Cependant le chantier (construction d'un immeuble) à 2 mètres des fenêtres de la chambre ne permet pas vraiment de faire des grasses matinées. Lève-tard s'abstenir !
My husband and I stayed in Lorenzo's apartment for nine nights and we loved it. Lorenzo picked us up from the airport late at night 4 hours later than our original arrival time due to flight changes. He gave us lots of information about the apartment and the area of St. Paul's Bay.
The place was clean, quiet, comfortable and well equipped with some food, milk and juice in the refrigerator. We really enjoyed the view of Ximxija Bay from the living room window. It was cold in Malta when we arrived but Lorenzo had the portable heater on for us in the apartment.
The apartment is conveniently located next to bus stops to Melihe Beach (20 minutes), the Gozo ferry (25 minutes) and to St. Paul's Bay (10 minutes) and to Valetta (45 minutes). We each bought a 7 day bus pass for 12 euro and were able to get around easily and quickly. The buses even in December were very frequent.
There are a few small shops and restaurants within walking distance from the apartment. We recommend eating at the Tarragon Restaurant and the Di Rosi Restaurant in St. Paul's Bay on Church Street.
Lorenzo was a great host and we would recommend his apartment.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Malta and the lovely Penthouse apartment. The view is simply extraordinary. The pictures don't lie. Proximity to the bus stop was a great plus. The immediate neighborhood only has one restaurant, but less than a km walk there are many options across the bay. The price, location, and view were a great combination. I would definitely recommend and hope to come back.
Lorenzo was a very helpful and gracious host. The ride from the airport and tour of the East coast along the way was invaluable. There are tourist maps and bus guides available in the apartment.
The free WiFi? Awesome!
The cereal, water, and milk were helpful as well.
Two bits of advice: Turn on the hot water heater in the bathroom more than an hour before you plan on showering! And take a taxi to the airport. Lorenzo will help you arrange it. The exasperating bus ride was not worth the 25 euro we saved.
Book it! And enjoy your stay!
Lorenzo provided excellent service. He and has wife picked us up from our earlier accommodation and gave us small tour of area, explained flat and any other info we needed. Had some food in fridge, water and were very helpful. Flat is lovely, view beautiful and location quite and peaceful. Thanks Lorenzo.
My husband and I just returned from a two-week stay at Lorenzo's apartment in St. Paul's Bay. It was all we expected and more. Lorenzo's wife, Rita, picked us up from the airport (Lorenzo was picking up another guest) and took us to the apartment after showing us the area. As others have said, there were some basic food items in the apartment which had been kindly left to get us started. This was especially appreciated. The view from the terrace is outstanding. We had breakfast there every morning and relaxed there at the end of our long days. The breeze was constant and refreshing. We unfortunately locked ourselves out our first night there as we were exhausted from the travel and became careless, and Lorenzo and Rita kindly drove to the apartment to rescue us and let us in. There are several good restaurants in the area (and one only a few feet away that we especially enjoyed - Piccola Calabria). When we weren't with local relatives (who had cars) we relied on buses. The bus stops are very close, but the new bus system has challenges. As we live in the U.S., we were unfamiliar with a European washing machine and had to call Rita for instructions, which she provided. The apartment has everything needed for a home away from home. We enjoyed our stay enormously!
This is a nice little apartment in a quiet area between the touristy areas of Buggiba, and Xemxija, particularly recommended for couples seeking a relaxing getaway in the sunshine.
Lorenzo and his wife were really helpful. They picked us up from the airport and gave us a quick tour of the area, pointing out grocery shops, bus stops, and places to eat, before taking us to the flat. The apartment had everything we needed - towels, basics for breakfast, bottled water, soap and other essentials, as well as useful information brochures and phone numbers for taxi hire etc. It's also well kitted out with a fridge, lots of cookware and a barbecue if you want to self-cater.
The best feature of the place is the large roof terrace overlooking the bay which gets the sun all day; it also has an awning to provide shade if needed. Great for sunbathing, reading, and watching the sun set over the bay full of little boats! The flat is walking distance away from a few different places to eat across the bay in Xemxija.
Location-wise, it's near enough to St Paul's the town so you can take a bus in to buy groceries and come back, but far enough away from the really touristy areas to get some peace and quiet. Although the bars across the bay play music sometimes in the evenings which is audible from the terrace, but not from inside. It's not that near to what (in my opinion) are the nicer parts of Malta but perfectly doable within a day. To get further afield, you can get anywhere by bus (Valetta, Mdina, Gozo ferry) but this can take some time, so if you want to do a lot of exploring on your trip you might want to hire a car. That said, we used the buses to get everywhere and it was very cheap and easy.
Over all we had a really nice time staying at Lorenzo's place and couldn't had asked for more. A great place to hang out and relax
