Born in 1969 in a small town in the Netherlands. Married in 1992 with Miriam. After our first Africa-trip in 1997 to Tanzania and Zanzibar we fell in love with Africa.
In 1998 another Africa-trip brought us from Cape Town to Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
1999 and 2000 more overland camping expeditions to South-Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenia.
2001 was an exeptions when we travelled to Canada & Alaska.
2002 was the year we first started looking for a piece of land to built our lodge. In 2003, when both our parents came along to South-Africa, we found what we were looking at: more then 21 hectares of bush in a Big-5 private nature reserve.
We purchased the land once we were back in the Netherlands in June 2003, and in January 2004 we emigrated to South-Africa. Together with our 2 Collies and our life packed in a 20ft. container.
We welcome you to stay in our small and intimate game-lodge, so we can show you why we love Africa so much. Feel 'Amukela' (welcome) at our lodge in the Balule Nature Reserve!
